Team members for Danan's are Don Bentz, Myron Bentz," Bill Brennan, Vinnie Freund, Don Gerstein, Bob Hamm, Ray Hamm, Dick Hiller, W. Hiller, Jim Meyers, P. Morenz, B. Oeffling, Tom Spasavich, Dick St dee and their scorekeeper Hank Hiller. IT TOOK five hundred years for the printing press to democratize learning. Television has conquered America in less than a gen eration. With dizzying speed, it has democratized experi ence. Through the networks we watch in common a mix ture of entertainment, news, instruction, uplift, exhorta tion and guegs-what-all ex periences. ALTHOUGH there are many channels, the TV watcher in a measure lacks the power to decide what he views. INVISIBLE HANDS guide what is seen. Directors, cameramen, commentators, etc., decide for the viewer what is to be seen, focusing the watchers attention on a particular view of a pretty delegate or an on-the-job policeman. Sober thoughts regarding the implications of this process are in order, surely. NBC will have Burt Rey nolds for six forthcoming specials. One of these will come from behind the walls of the Federal prison at Leavenworth, Kansas, with inmates as well as stars performing. IT MAY BE that the Senate will approve a one-year ban on home-game TV blackouts of pro sporting events sold out 48 hours in advance. Cable TV forces, who would like to sell such games to subscribers on a pay-see basis, are fighting the move. THE NEW TV season will begin on September 10, as scheduled. However, be cause of the writer's strike, recently ended, many a prime-time series will be late making its debut. PAGE 7 - PLAINDEALER - FRIDAY.
