SEPTEMBER 19,1973 showing that hidden pile of trash or rubbish. Start to think about the storm windows and the new coat of paint they may need. If we all begin before the snow our subdivision will be prepared and look even better when everything becomes barren. 385-7841 happened to miss the day we hope youjpan come to the next subdivision function. The best of luck to our new officers! YOUTH ACTIVITIES Does your son or daughter belong to the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, chorus, band, 4-H, or other organization or club? We would like to know what our children are doing with their free time. Everyone is usually proud of their outside interests and it would also be nice to let others know too. Please let me know what kinds of activities your children are involved in either at school, church, or at home. Recognition of these interests lets them know you're a parent who really cares. LADIES' OPINIONS If you haven't already been approached by a member of the Women's auxiliary with a questionnaire, you may have had a little paper left in your door. Please read it carefully and fill out your honest an swers. A new name for the Women's Auxiliary is being submitted by various ladies of the community to interest new members. With the cooperation of the ladies and with the help of your opinion the Women's Auxiliary will be able to determine what problems must be solved. A new-catchy title would bring more spirit and liveliness to the group. Especially younger ideas are being welcomed to let the rest of the ladies know why you don't attend. Please help us by filling out the questionnaire and returning it to Connie Schmidt or Cindy Erickson. WINTER'S COMING With fall here and winter close behind it means property owners should begin preparing now to allow enough time for outside home repairs and improvements. With leaves falling rapidly much raking needs to be done to allow next spring's grass to grow even better. The large weeds will be dying soon and will begin PERSONALS A lucky day for Danielle ; Johnson was Sept. 7 when the pretty miss became 7 years old. Hope you had many happy birthday wishes. Lyall and Chet Andersen had to shorten their camping trip at Chippewa Falls when Chet became ill; however he has recovered quickly and is doing just fine now The Andersens also helped the rest of their family entertain a niece, Suzanne Murphy, from Los Angeles, Calif. Suzanne, who hadn't been back in McHenry for 25 years, is the daughter of Lyall's sister, Mrs. Jean Springfellow. Suzanne returned home with her brother, who is stationed in New Mexico with the Air Force. It certainly was an enjoyable week's visit for the Andersen household. News is only a phone call away. OPINION ON VOTE Attorney General William J. Scott has held in an official opinion that Illinois voters cannot be registered to vote in two different counties at the same time. Scott's opinion held further that election officials can deny registration to any individual who refuses to cancel a previous registration in another county. The opinion, given to Coles County State's Attorney John J. McCarthy Jr., dealt specifically with the matter of registering Illinois students attending Eastern Illinois university in Charleston, but the Scott opinion applies to all qualified Illinois voters.
