Chati- drasekhar in Mexico City recently. Ms. Vadasz is on sabbatical leave from the college for the 1973-74 academic year Chandrasekhar currently is distinguished professor of sociology at the University of California at San Diego and formerly served as Minister for Health and Family Planning in the cabinet of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the govern­ ment of India. He is an in­ ternationally acknowledged demographer scholar and has lectured on population and family planning in universities in Russia, Europe, Asia, as well as in the United States. * , A s C h a n d r a s e k h a r ' s assistant, Ms. Vadasz helped him gather data for a book he is preparing on Mexico's population growth. They met with sociologists and economists at the American Embassy, the Colegio de Mexico, and at the Museo Nacional de Antropologia. At MCC, Ms. Vadasz teaches i n t r o d u c t o r y s p e e c h , discussion, argumentation and debate, and oral interpretation. She taught English as a second language during the 1972-73 year and hopes to become more involved in the ESL program after this year's study at the University of California at Los Angeles. Presently, she is going post­ graduate work in the Teaching / of English as a Second Language at UCLA She earned a Bachelor of Arts in speech from the University of Illinois and a Master of Arts degree in public address and group communication from Nor­ thwestern university.
