Lorraine and her friend, Elaine Brabec, have been working there a few weeks now, and I hear their cooking is delicious LADIES OF THE LAKE Nominations were made Sept. 13, and new officers will be elected at the next meeting. Preliminary plans for money making project and Christmas party are to be discussed also. The annual Halloween party will be held that evening too. Ladies are asked to wear costumes, and prizes will be awarded for the best ones. Traditional refreshments, cider and donuts will be served. The date is Oct. 11, 8 p.m. at the beach house. GET-WELL We all wish a speedy- recovery for Jim Klapperich, 18, who is a patient at McHenry hospital due to injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident, Sept. 18. Belated best wishes to Bob Gildemeister, whose birthday was Sept. 14' CAMBERED WHEELS AND ALL At Lake Geneva this sum­ mer. in car 31K ('64 Dodge) running 383 engine, and turning 22:06 in the time trials were drivers from McCullom Lake - Tom Murray, Jim Odom, and mechanic drivers, Johnny Baird and Bill Daniels. Thev started off late in the season, but have been holding second and third place in Junior Sportsman Class, even taking first place in the Feature Race, Sunday, Aug. 26. The racing season is over now (for points) but they'll be back next year with some good showmanship.! (car wise and maneuver­ ability.) They also plan to fix upr a special car for Nancy Murray, so she can drive in the Powder Puffs. All the artistic touehes, added to the cars are done by Nancy's sister, Diane Aitken, who lives with the Murrays. CYSTIC FIBROSIS CAMPAIGN ENDS Volunteer workers for the Cystic Fibrosis foundation collected $115 in donations from the village during their cam­ paign, the week of Sept. 9. McHenry County Civil Defense, an­ nounced that a basic course for radio amateurs will begin Tuesday. Oct. 9. The classes will be held Tuesday and Friday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Civil Defense emergency operating center in the courthouse. The ten-week course will contain the information necessary in order to obtain a license from the Federal Communications commission in the novice or technician class for Morse code. The FCC exam will be held in McHenry county. YOUTH PROGRAM A program for youth that is planned by the youth with adult assistance is the description of a weekly program for young people, aged 12-18, in the Church of Jesu^ Christ of Latter-Day Saints (MOR- MAN).
