Homecoming is climaxed with the football game against Driscoll high school and the fourteenth annual Homecoming dance Saturday evening, Oct. 20. Junior High Visitation At MCCHS Homecoming On Saturday Oct. 20, over 300 seventh and eighth grade students from the McHenry county area will be guests at Marian Central Catholic high school's 1973 homecoming activities. The seventh and eighth graders will be bussed from most towns in McHenry county to attend this event. Activities will begin with the Homecoming float judging at noon, followed by the Junior Varsity football game. After the first game the visitors will watch the float parade and crowning of the homecoming queen. Highlight of the afternoon will naturally center on the varsity football game against Driscoll. Besides the special activities of the day, the seventh and eighth graders will be urged on by the regular support of the junior and varsity cheerleaders and the Marian Central pom-pom girls. This activity is the beginning of an articulation program which will consist of several events designed to exhibit and promote Marian's offerings. The Junior high homecoming event is open to all interested seventh and eighth graders in McHenry county. Theology Workshop To Be Offered In County IN HONORSYEAR Steven McArdle, 7205 Loras lane, Wonder Lake, is one of twenty-eight students chosen to participate in the freshman Honors year at the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater. Students are selected for the Honors program on the basis of high ACT scores and the recommendation of their high school counselor. During their freshman year they enroll in six honors courses and in an The McHenry County Office of Religious Education will offer two, one-day workshops on Theology For Parents and Teachers, Saturday, Oct. 27, and Nov. 10th, at St. Mary's cafeteria, Woodstock. The workshops, which are specially designed for parents and religious education teachers, will run from 1 until 8 p.m. Topics covered in the two sessions will be: "What's Happening to Morality?", "Can the Church's Teachings Change?", "Do We Still Need Grace?", "The Bible: Does It Ever Lie?", "What's Hap pening to Penance?", "What's Honors seminar. In addition they elect other classes to complete their class schedule. CONFERENCE . The Midwest Regional council of Parents Without Partners, comprised of over 3,000 members in the Chicago Suburban area, will conduct a regional conference at the Sheraton-Joliet Motor Inn, Joliet, Oct. 20. hosted by Joliet Chapter 118. The conference will include five workshops dealing with Family and Children's Programming, I.C.E., How to Conduct an Election, Bridging the Com munication Gap, and a lecture entitled "Does Your Chapter Have 'Kid Power'", moderated by Norm Sirnic, newly elected vice-president of children's programming for the in ternational office of Parents Without Partners. Attending the conference and representing the Crystal Lake chapter of Parents Without Partners will be Dick Gilpin, president of the county chapter and vice-president of the Midwest Regional council.
