McCullom Lake Gerry Milbratz 385-8543 Name Kurt Welsenberger Road Trustee Only a few people attended the village board meeting, Nov. 27, and it was very quiet and orderly, in comparison to other meetings in recent months. Kurt Weisenberger was sworn in as trustee in charge of roads. He addressed the audience, stating that he wasn't too familiar with all the roads in the village, and asked that people call him if they observed any problem areas. The clerk reported that 420 people had voted in the last village election. President McKim said that would make 211 signatures necessary on a petition to hold a special election, as had been discussed last meeting. Trustee Eaycraft presented plans for the purchase of wall covering for the village hall. The materials suggested met with approval by the board, and will be bought and installed as soon as possible. The next board meeting will be Tuesday, Dec. 11, 8 p.m. AGETTOGETHER The day after Thanksgiving, Mrs. Violet Gates of W. Fountain Lane got on the phone, and invited some company over. Guests were Mrs. Elsie Osterby, Donna Gates and her sons, Mike and Roger, and Nancy Yates with her children, Kelly, Ronnie, and Shelly. Mrs. Gates served cake and ice cr^im to all, and said she just wanted to do something nice for them, since she felt they were all so nice to her. It was a thoroughly en joyable afternoon for everyone. IT'S A BOY Proud grandparents for the second time are Allan and Marie McKim. Their son-in-law and daughter, Gary and Karen Johnson, of Marengo have a new baby boy. His name is Randy Allan, and he was born Nov. 26, weighing 5 lbs., 15 oz. Randy has a big sister, 5 year old Kimbery, who is very pleased with her little brother. Paternal grandparents are, Mr. and Mrs. G. Johnson, also of Marengo. REMINDERS Youth club meeting Sunday, Dec. 9, 7:30 p.m. at the beach house. Ladies of the Lake are having their Christmas party Dec. 13, 6:30 p.m. at the Cullom Knoll. BEACH GALS A set of by-laws is being drawn up by the officers of the Beach Gals organization. At the meeting, Nov. 28, by-laws made so far were presented to members for approval, and were accepted with very few minor changes. It was felt necessary to draw up these guidelines, due to increased membership, finances and projects, since the group first organized in 1972. The meeting was not all business, though. There was also discussion about the Beach Gals Christmas party Dec. 5. Members who attend are asked to bring a dollar grab bag gift, and four dozen cookies for a cookie exchange. PARTY AND CAROLING PLANNED A Christmas party, for the kids in the village, is being given by the Beach Gals, Dec. 19, 3 p.m. in the village hall. There'll be movies, and treats, and maybe a certain special person will stop in, if he's not too busy. After the party, groups will be formed to go Christmas caroling through the village. This will be about 4:30 p.m. and it is hoped there will be more participation than there was last year. PERSONALS Helping to bring in the Christmas season were Karl Blom, and Pattie and Billy Milbratz who marched with the Viscounts in Woodstock for the Christmas parade. BIRTHDAYS Happy birthday to Jimmy Wyman Dec. 5, and to Butch Strauman, Dec. 6. Dec. 8 is Patty Cunningham's special day, and Roy Sullivan will be 16 years old, Dec. 9. Dec. 9 is also JoAnne Weisenberger's bir- r- • • ' Goodwill For the past few semesters, the drafting courses at McHenry County college have been offered primarily during the day. During the spring semester, however, that will be reversed and the three courses will be offered during the evenings. Descriptive Geometry (DRFT 106A) will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 10 p.m. The semester class will involve an in-depth study of techniques used in solving problems involving spatial relationships of points, lines, surfaces and solids. The class will be taught by Maury Bynum, instructor in the college's drafting department. This class, as well as the other two offered during the spring semester, will be geared for students who have had previous drafting experience, or to those who have had some class work, either in high school or in College, according to Bynum. Technical Illustrations (DRFT 201 A), which meets on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7 to 10 p.m, will be valuable to both draftsmen and to graphic designers. It may also be helpful for those art majors who are interested in illustrating. D i m e n s i o n i n g f o r Producibility (DRFT 202A) will be offered on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 10 p.m. According to instructor A1 Albrecht, many fabrication techniques will be considered as they relate to d i m e n s i o n a l s t a b l i t y , production cost and product function. Albrecht is manufacturing superintendent at Oak Industries in Crystal Lake. In addition to draftsmen and mechanical designers, the course will be of interest to i n s p e c t o r s , e s t i m a t o r s , production engineers, tool designers, and others who must i n t e r p r e t e n g i n e e r i n g drawings, according to Albrecht. The course will include the study of geometeric and true- position dimensioning and thday, and Edith Brendle, and Martin Parks share their birth- date, Dec. 10. " D i m e n s i o n i n g f o r Producibility" was first presented at McHenry County college during the spring semester, 1970. At that time, MCC was one semester ahead of U.CL.A. in presenting the subject, and probably the first formal presentation in national colleges. Although the subject is not new, very few colleges present this course. Some industries have found the cost advantages in using this design approach and have implemented in-plant training sessions.
