Registration To Jan. 28 College To Offer New Counseling Service "Many students indicate an uncertainty about career plans or educational goals. In response to this, the McHenry County college counseling service provides an organized program for future planning," said John Adelmann, McHenry County college counselor. „ According to Adelmann, an important featuraof the overall program is "View Deck" -- a manually operated system for gathering information about possible careers or transfer institutions. "The participant, working with a counselor, can obtain information about careers or colleges which is compatible with factors which he has identified as important," he added. View Deck is available at no cost to both students and members of the general community The service is readily accessible to both day and evening students on a year- round basis. "Students registering for spring semester classes at MCC may find this service helpful," said Adelmann. General registration began Jan. 3 and continues through Jan. 28. Students may register during the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. ^ " * Further information about registration or use of the View Deck may be obtained by calling the counseling office. SEARCH FOR TRUTH ^ ( By Larry Swaim ̂ THE SECOND COMING Dear Mr. Swaim, a number of ministers who I have heard re cently say they feel that "Jesus' second coming is soon at hand. Some have used Bible quotations to verify their beliefs. What is your opinion? Christ is coming again. "This same Jestis...shall come in' like manner as you have^ seen. Jurn go" [Acts 1:11]; The first time Jesus came was to save mankind; the second time He comes, it will be to judge man. Christ said before His ascension, "I go to pre pare a place for you and if 1 will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am, there ye may be also." This is the thrilling and glori ous hope of the church-that Jesus Christ will make a vic torious return and that those who are faithful will meet Him in the clouds. --The first question that us- usually comes to mind when discussing the second coming is, "When will Christ return?" Matthew 25:13 states, Watch ye, therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour when the Son of Man shall come." The Bible plainly teaches that men simply don't know when the Lord will come again. In Matthew 24:3, "And He sat upon the Mount of Olives and the dis ciples came unto Him privately saying, "Tell us when these things shall be and what shall be the sign of thy second coming and of the end of the world. ' Jesus then proceeded to list several signs that would be prevalent just prior to His return. It is true that these signs are right for today, but many of them have been right for other centuries too. I think the thing we must emphasize and recognize is that no man does know when Christ will return. The only thing we know for certain is that He will come again.
