Ill Food Next? * John Hightower, coordinator of the Food Action Campaign, recently told a congressional committee the nation could be headed for a food crunch comparable to the present energy crunch because a* few multinational firms are gaining mo nopoly control over the nation's food supply. Hightower says a handful of giant corporations now large ly control food processing and are increasing their control of the industry by taking over smaller firms* while at the same time small farmers are being driven out of business. In that sense they are an indication of an active mind, of good intentions. Nqw Year's resolutions, then, whether kept or not, are a good idea. They con stitute a taking stock, a plan for better things in the future. And that is what the game of life is all about-- the hope, and effort, to build a better future.
