The Dundee Cardunals, surprise basketball team in the North Suburban Conference, will come to McHenry on Friday night of this week. Dundee was once a power in the state. Maybe they are coming back. You can expect to see Coach Ludwig's boys in good form this week. A long holiday lay-off, without games, didn't do them a bit of good for last week's games. On Saturday night the Warriors travel to Barrington. Two big games a-comin! McHenry, Dundee and Libertyville are tied for first place in the conference with 3-1 records. McHenry should be at the top without a loss, but that's water over the dam. Jim Curran is a nice fellow after all! He thought we were too young to remember when names of persons filing income tax were posted in the Post Office. In looking over the bowling scores for this issue, our eyes popped when we saw this one So I Hear SPORTS EDITORJ with the Ten Pin Queens: V. Brzenk 224-606 That's one to be proud of for the Queen. Maybe she should give lessons to the Kings. Congratulations! Coach Dick Motta of the Chicago Bulls got more than a slap on the wrist for his actions after a frustrating game. Seven days suspension and a $2,000 fine are enough to make a fellow keep his cool in future games. The trouble with such actions on the part of a coach is that fans get upset and out of hand. It wasn't much of a surprise to learn that Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford were chosen for baseball's Hall of Fame. They were Yankees in the days when they were damyankees to the rest of the league. % , » vfc If we had to win one big game, Whitey Ford in his prime would do just fine as our pit cher. And if we needed a big hit in a tight game, Mickey Mantle would look mighty good at the plate. The Mantles and the Fords come along just once in a while.
