A1 May and Lee Murphy paced both victories with May pumping in 17 and 19 points respectively. Murphy pumped in 20 against I.C. and 12 against Benet. Sam Anderson added 10 against I.C. and 12 versus Benet to feature a balanced scoring attack. The big factor in Marian's win over Benet was A1 May's 11-point fourth quarter when the 6'5" center contributed to the scoring as well as picking off seven key rebounds. By DickRabbitt The McHenry High "Warriors" face another challenge tonight when they play host to the always dangerous Libertyville "Wildcats". The Wilkcats are breathing down the necks of the first place Warriors. The Warriors stand at 5 and 1 while the "Cats" are close behind with a 4 and 2 record. Coach Larry Leon has 5 lettermen returning including 4 regulars from last year's squad. The "Cats" are ted~toy ^ Bob Leon, son of Coach Larry. The 5*10" senior is playing his third year as a regular and is currently in 2nd place in the conference scoring. Last Saturday night against Crown he made 41 points for the season's high in the North Suburban. Rich Burkhart the 6'2" center is another regular returning. Rounding out the starting five for the "Cats" are Km Thompson a 6'1" senior and the Mieszala brothers Mike at 6'0" and Mark standing at 6'1". On the other hand Coach Ken Ludwig's Warriors are and able. Putting two go games back to back last weekend could do nothing but help the Warriors. They grabbed a lead both nights and were able to hold on to it. It should be a battle of the defenses. Both teams play excellent defense. They press, and they don't let you get the good set shot. So let's all go out and back the Warriors. It has been a long time since a McHenry basketball team has been in first place this late in the season. Let's keep them there. They need your support. Remember game is here, sophs get under way at 6:45, and the Varsity game follows. See you there. Back to the horse. The Chicago Police Department has learned that the horse can never be replaced. Just look at those bowling scores the ladies list. Look for Bette O'Brien. That gal goes on and on with top scores. George Diedrich came in one day, slumped down in a big chair, and announced he was on an energy saving program. His energy. Sounds like a great plan to save the country.
