Chovaneck Leetzow ~ By Dick Rabbitt The McHenry high "Warriors" of Coach Ken Ludwig hope to rebound from last week's loss to Libertyville when they travel to North Chicago and engage the "Warhawks" on Friday night. The North Chicago five of Coach Larry Hanzel are one game behind the Warriors in the North Suburban, and would like nothing better than to beat the Warriors at the Warhawk gym. , Coach Hanzel in his 12th season at the helm of the -Warhawks has four returning lettermen from last year's squad which posted a 9 and 14 record. Marty Sztosak, 6'5" senior center, is the mainstay of the Warhawks. Mike Weakley, a 6'4 " senior forward, Stan Jakatis at 5'10" along with the football speedster Emmanuel Hanna a 5'8" guard are the lettermen returning. 6'5" sophomore Del Yarbrough rounds out the starting five. North Chicago is big and rough, and the Warriors will have their hands full reboun­ ding with the taller "Hawks". The "Warriors" have shaken off the Libertyville defeat. That is past history, and they have been working hard this week to overcome their lack of offense against the "Cats". On Saturday night the "Warriors" will* travel to Kaneland and try to avenge a defeat they suffered in the King Korn ^ Tournament in November. If you recall the Warriors lost a 17 point lead and went down to defeat at the hands of the Knights. Kaneland was the runnerup in the State Class A tournament last year, and the Warriors would like nothing better than to hang a loss on the Knights. As usual I would like to en­ courage everyone to follow the Warriors, but I know the fuel shortage will keep some of you at home. If you can make it, I'm sure the team will ap­ preciate it. McHenry County College had their mini winning streak snapped this past weekend by a fine Triton College basketball team. The Scots were forced back into the real world as Triton's Warriors blasted the nets for 112 points while limiting the McHenry squad to 74. Dale Groskinsky was the only Scot hitting the hoop with any regularity. He dropped in 34 points and grabbed 10 rebounds but he didn't get much help from his teammates in either department.
