JOIN KIWANIS CLUB - The McHenry Kiwanis club recently inducted the four new members pictured above. From left, they are Art Adelberg, Tom Birmingham, Duane Haak, and Jim Marinangel. The addition of these four McHenry businessmen will aid the Kiwanis club in providing the many community services sponsored by the club. The McHenry Kiwanis club was chartered in November of 1955 to render voluntary service to youth, com munity and nation. The Kiwanians work with boys and girls, with Senior Citizens, the poor, the mentally retarded and the sick. The Kiwanis club is a service organization for men wherein the members voluntarily share in the burden of community leader ship. They are pledged to do the human, helpful things that the unfortunates cannot do for themselves; that men working as in dividuals simply cannot accomplish; that the government isn't geared to do; and that desperately need doing for the good of all concerned. The Kiwanis club's members are motivated by a common desire to serve, plus a desire for fellowship. STAFF PHOTO-WAYNE GAYLORD Lake County Downs MCC Cagers 100-85 In Hot Shooting Game Once again the MCC basketball team tasted defeat at the hands of the Lake County Lancers. In one of the hottest shooting contests of the season, the Lancers downed the Scots 100 to 85. Both teams bombed the nets at better than a 50 percent pace for the first half as the Lake County five pulled in front 48 to 41 at intermission. Lake maintained their shooting pace in the second half hitting on 41 of 82 shots for the game. McHenry hit on 31 of 73 for the contest. At the free throw line the nets really burned as the Scots hit 23 of 25 for 92 percent while Lake connected on 18 of 20 for an even 90 percent. Wes Wittmus led the Scots with 22 points while Dale Groskinsky dumped in 20 and Tom Frost connected for 16.
