MARCH 27,1974 Gene Slack New President Production Credit GENE SLACK Gene Slack, 44, native of Fuljton county who farmed a dozen years before entering the farm financing business, is the new president of Northeast Illinois Production credit association. Slack's selection to succeed the veteran R.G. "Pat" Ullrich as the operating manager of the farmer-owned cooperative was announced by Alan Ainger, Harvard farmer who is chairman of the board. Ullrich has retired following twenty-two years' association with Production Credit association, the past half dozen as the president of Northeast Illinois PCA. Slack comes to his responsibility serving farmers with short-term credit needs from a similar position at the Kewanee Production Credit association. During twelve years at Kewanee PCA he successively worked as field r e p r e s e n t a t i v e , b r a n c h manager, assistant manager and vice-president. " He and his wife, Virginia, plan to move to the Woodstock area s soon as their children complete 0 the present school year. Dan, 17, is a high school senior. Diane, 14, is a sophomore. He says money is available for loans Speech Therapy Unit Works In 3 Divisions Mrs. Beverly Middlebrook is head of the speech therapy department conducted by the McHenry county Easter Seal society at the County Therapy center in Woodstock. Without the Education Board Approves Marian Salary Report The McHenry County Board of Catholic Education, at the March meeting, accepted a report of the Finance commission and its recommendations for contracts and salary scale for Marian teachers for 1974-75. The Finance commission also presented preliminary budget figures for the coming year. William Caldwell presented an oral report on the work of the Advisory Curriculum committee and promised a full written report for the next meeting. Father James Moses, superintended of Catholic Education for the county, presented a , report on the progress of "the McHenry County Catholic Education foundation. The fund is growing rapidly, and the Foundation Development council is gift of speech, these people are as crippled as those without the use of arms or legs. i Vocal Pupils Rate Well In District Contest Mrs. Mona Brown, vocal music instructor at Harrison school in Wonder Lake, has announced the ratings her chorus and chorus members received at the recent solo and ensemble contest held in Avon township. Father Joffe announced meeting dates for the various board commissions: the Religious Education (C.C.D.) and Schools commissions on April 2 at Marian; the Finance commission on April 9 at Marian.
