This ^meeting will be held April 11,; one week early, to> accommodate the guests. , On April 25, the American Legion McHenry county council will hold its meeting at Wonder Lake. Auxiliary members will prepare and serve the refreshments. The auxiliary will hold a bake sale May 24 at the Legion post home. Proceeds of a sale will be used to help veterans, their families and worthy non-profit organizations. - Health Agency To Hear Hospital Expansion Plans The Comprehensive Health Planning agency (CHPA) for McHenry county will hear presentations from area hospitals that are proposing major expansion programs in the near future. President Richard Wissell emphasizes for information to the organization. TTiey will not be the basis for making any kind of comment on any of the proposals. liiese meetings were recommended by the Executive committee of CHPA as part of that committee's report at the board of directors' March 27 meeting. The Executive committee has been evaluating a proposed "Hospital Bed Need Study" for McHenry county. The study uses a methodology suggested by the State of Illinois Health Planning agency. After talking with each of the hospitals in the McHenry county area, the Executive committee recommended that this hospital study not be adopted as CHPA's policy on hospital expansion. The committee also recommended that CHPA task forces be assigned responsibility to study four specific area of concern: 1 - Availability of hospital services; 2 - Utilization of hospital facilities and services; 3 - Availability of medical personnel and 4 - Indicators of need for hospitals. The target date for completion of this study is June, 1974. At the completion of the studv CHPA should be able to adopt a policy on the need for hospitals in the McHenry county area and would thai be able to comment on specific hospital proposals. Informational presentations will be given by four hospitals. The first meeting was held Monday, April l, at the county board room, in the county courthouse in Woodstock. Harvard and Sherroan-Orystal Lake hospitals presented proposals. The second meeting will be held Tuesday, April 9, at the First Security bank of Cary at 45 Northwest highway (Rt. 14) with the Good Shepherd hospital proposal at 8 p.m. The McHenry hospital proposal will be at 9 p.m. The public is invited to attend thjese meetings.
