PAliK 3 - PLAINDEALER - WEDNESDAY. APRIL 10,1974 Lakeland Park Anne Moore 385-6448 Discuss Water System During Annual Meeting The Lakeland Park Property Owners Association held its annual meeting last Sunday afternoon at the community house. The meeting was opened by the president of the association, Lester Eckhart. The pledge of allegiance was recited, the minutes were read by Lloyd Wagner, the treasurer's report was read by Mrs. Lyda Radisch, old buisness was discussed, then new business. Mr. Lindstrom of the Environmental Protection Agency was there and a lengthy discussion about our water system ensued. Problems were again stressed to him by various property owners in attendance. The electron was held and each member of the association had the opportunity to vote for three people from the slate of eligible nominees. Mrs. Lyda Radisch was reelected to the board. She received forty-seven votes. New members to the board are Mrs. Betty Bockman who was elected with forty votes, and Frederick Kupstis who received thirty-three votes. Thirty-two votes were cast for Elmer Boeldt and John Gacek received twenty-five votes. Current board members in addition to those elected at the meeting are: Ernest Schooley, Lloyd Wagner, Dennis Storlie and Everett Fleming. While the ballots were being counted, Jerry Rogers introduced his American Field Services daughter, Sonia Dale Corbin. Sonny then spoke a few minutes about her visit to the United States and about her country of Barbados. She stressed how very much she has enjoyed the past eight months in McHenry as a member of the Rogers' family. Sonny said she was excited and enjoyed the winter months because it was her first experience with cold weather and the first time she ever saw snow. She said that the temperature rarely changes from 80 degrees in her homeland and that for about one week of each year they experience temperatures in the high nineties. One particularly interesting thing Sonny said was that many of the house plants she has seen since she has been in the States are considered wild weeds in her country! Sonny is a most delightful young lady and all of us enjoyed this opportunity to meet her. A THANK YOU At this time I'd like to take the opportunity, on behalf of all the residents, to thank Lester Eckhart for his time and efforts extended us when he served us as president of the Lakeland Park Property Owners Association.
