Qt course, Randy Meyer came in with a sly look and casually remarked, "I hear your Sox won a ball game." Then added, "A couple of weeks ago.7' And Leo Blake laughed. His team won 19 to 9 on Wednesday. Football! It was a pleasant change on Wednesday to visit Mr. and Mr?. Homer M. Douglass in Lakeland Park. Interstates racing association will promote super modified and sportsman stock car racing for the 7th season there. The speedway is located in Wilmot, Wis., just north of Kenosha county "C" on the fairgrounds. New starting time for time trials 6:45 p.m. First race 8 p.m. By Dick Rabbitt In a duel between North Suburban powers, the Libertyville Wildcats edged the McHenry Warriors by a score of 1*5 to 66 in a meet held at McCracken Field last Tuesday. Competing without the services of hurdler and high jumper Mike Cajthaml, who was confined to bed with a strep throat, the Warriors gave it aU they had, but had to settle for second best in the dual meet. Highlight of the meet was the pole vaulting of senior Rick Freund. This young lad not only broke a school record, but also broke a McCracken\ Field record when he vaulted 14'. He failed to vault 14'3"1. The meet was over when Rick made his record making vault. With all the contestants, as well as about a hundred . spectators looking on, the young lad on his third and final attempt easily cleared the bar for the new record. Rick was utterly mobbed by his coach Wally Scott, as well as his teammates as he came out of the pit. In watching this record breaking event, this has to be one of the great thrills for this reporter as a high school coach. Congratulations indeed are in order for Rick, and may he set his sights on a higher vault in the near future.
