Grandma Sez There's an apathetic attitude on th' part o' th' viewin' public, regardin' th* kind o' material, invadin' our home, via th' popular medium o' entertainment, these days. Seems t' this granny that th' public should have some say about what comes o'er th' TV screen, but p'haps th' apathy is more laziness, than any thin' else. , I wuz a looktn' at my TV program, t'other day, checkin' th' entire week's enter tainment, an' it's surprisin' how much o' it wuz involved wi' murder, an' all sorts o' crime. Next in line, wuz th' number o' sports events, reports, etc. It wuz hard t' find a bit o'real honest entertainment, t' help th' shut-ins, an' keep th' younguns occypied fer an hour 'r two. Th' impression is, that ever'one, on a Sunday aft'noon, must be int'rested in some kind o' sports. Now this ol' lady's a baseball fan, an' it gi'es me great pleasure t' watch a bowlin' match, tennis, basketball, an' forms o' seems t' me, that someone might be a bit considerate o' those who don't care about physical competition, on th' field 'r in th' court, when they're arrangin' th' programs fer folks t' pass th' time wi'. P'haps we need another local channel, t' accommodate some o»ih' good, old productions o' which there 're so many, it'd take ten years t' view 'em all, an' then they'd be able t' start all o'er again, fer another generation. Seems 's though, anyone, wi' th' courage t' git b'fore a camera, thinks they have talent, an' t' my way o' rhinkin', along wi' a lot o' other |V ^ 1^ | I In1 l a>l)ion Sh<>|»|>»- SENIOR CITIZENS' DAY every Tuesday , 10% off on any purchase if you are 65 or older does nut apply to sale merchandise V'l Sizes - Misses Juniors T H E fashion SHOPPED 1007 N.
