GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY Christ and Elsie Bleich were married 50 years on April 15, 1974. They celebrated their anniversary by inviting approximately 130 guests to share family style dinner and dancing at the American Legion. A delicious chicken and roast beef dinner was served followed by coffee and wedding cake. After dinner everyone enjoyed dancing. Many friendships were renewed and the relatives talked over old times and were brought up to date on the happenings of past years. Everyone had a very enjoyable evening. LIBRARY NEWS Margaret Karas, librarian at McHenry-Nunda District Library, attended library legislation day in Springfield on April 24, in a workshop session. Rep. Cal Skinner explained proposed legislation and his views of his desires to extend library use to the handicapped, aged and incarcerated. In the displays set up by the eighteen library systems in Illinois, one group disclosed library service by mail which reaches all people of the area, even those without a library card. Would our residents use such a service? If any of you are interested give Margaret a call or go over to the library and discuss it pro and con. The library is located on Lilylake road and Columbus Drive. The phone number is 385-6303. FIRST AID PROGRAM Next week I will hopefully have an item in the column regarding the new first-aid program being put on in Lakemoor in the municipal building. See you next week.
