The seniors arrived in Springfield Tuesday afternoon for a tour of the state Capitol building and then were taken through the Governor's office, the Senate gallery, and the House of Representatives gallery. When the tour was over, the class sat in on an appropriations hearing concerning public aid. Following the meeting, Rep. Thomas Hanahan, (D- McHenry), greeted the students and took them on a tour of the capitol building. Because of the local Representative, the students saw people and places they would not have otherwise seen. He introduced them to Secretary of State Michael J. Howlett, Attorney General William Scott, Lieut. Governor Neil Hartigan and the head of the Chicago Teacher's union, John Desmond. The class also had a first MON. Thru FRI. 5:00 to 7:00 p".m. Hanahan led the way out of the capitol building, he met the Assistant state Treasurer to Alan Dixon and introduced him to the students. Following the tour of the Capitol building the students toured the old state Capitol. They stayed over night at the Illinois State Fair grounds dormitory. The seniors attended a breakfast which was given for them by Rep. Hanahan, Rep. Bruce Waddell, of West Dundee, Rep. Cal Skinner of Crystal Lake and Sen. Jack Schaffer from Cary-Grove. The Representatives and Senator Schaffer visited with the students after breakfast and finished with a brief speech. After breakfast, they went on a tour of Lincoln's home, Lincoln's tomb, and on to New Salem. Faculty chaperones for the trip were George Parthemore, Hans Rokus and Mary Richards. Frank Harrison To Play Title Role In Play "Tom Jones", like the Oscar- Award winning movie of 1964, is based on Henry Fielding's entertaining novel, will be presented at the Woodstock Opera House on May 17, 18, 24 and 25 by the Townsquare Players, Inc. Frank Harrison, McHenry resident, will have the title role of the boyishly charming, wild and gusty "foundling" who is found irresistible by women. Written by David Rogers, a New York playwright and TV writer, this version of the celebrated eighteenth century novel trickily manages to get into one light-hearted evening nearly all of the main episodes and broad humor of the 880- page book, and even many of the film's colorful backgrounds that dart from country scenes to numerous city locations. By means of some doubling that only the program will disclose, a cast of twenty will portray a total of twentv-five roles in the comedy, under the direction of Art Thorsen. These will include, in addition to Messrs. Harrison and Nate Dahlin (Tom Jones and Partridge), Pax Messel as Tom's ardent sweetheart, Sophia ; Dick Burkland as her hot-tempered father (Mr. Western); Bud Lytle as Squife Allworthy; Tom's misled protector, Ginny Arsenty and Tannis Callison as Sophia's aunts, Miss Western and Lady Bellaston; Kent Brodie as the double-faced Blifil, Joe Amato and John Hoffman as his co­ conspirators, Thwackum and Square, Melinda Chambers as the loose-moraled Jenny Jones - turned into Mrs. Waters.
