Little Jeffrey (J-J) Heuer had one candle on his special birthday cake last Sunday, May 5. Seven-year-old Maureen Serritella had a very special day last Sunday. Maureen received her First Holy Communion at the 9:45 a.m. Mass at St. Patrick's church. Tony and Ceil then entertained several friends and relatives at their home. Everyone enjoyed the delicious dinner and were glad they were able to celebrate Maureen's special day. From what I heard everyone had a marvelous time and enjoyed the presentation of trophies and awards. "Happy Four" finished in first place once again this year. Warn members are Wilma and Elwood Crane of Lakeland Park and Cliff and Sis Wallwin of Round Lake Park. Len and Mary Ann and Rita and Jim Thennes were the members of the second place team, the "Tee's." The "Luv- bugs" finished in third place and those teammates were Dot and John Zimny and Chuck and Monique Kopp. Other trophies and awards were presented to the following league members: High game - women - Kay Druml, 259; high game - men - Dennis Shaver, 283; high series - women - Karen Shaver, 669; high series - men - Ken Roby 705. Most improved female bowler was Mary Dauriowho increased her average by 15 points. Most improved male bowler was Dennis Shaver whose average increased by 13 points. Gag awards were presented to Jim Daurio for his upsetting 87 game total and to Betty Fair for her remarkable game total of 42! His parents, John and Maureen, entertained guests in their home to celebrate his special day. The teachers of Montini Primary Center hosted a luncheon for the volunteer mothers who served throughout the school year as teachers' aides. The food was delicious, I was told, but the moms were especially thrilled with the lovely flowers made by the first grade students, the invitations made by the second grade students and the placemats made by the third grade students. The Schaans enjoyed a fun evening out on the town with the Bartens last week and they all enjoyed their delicious dinner, from what I heard! CANCER CRUSADE Now that the door-to-door fund raising drive of the Cancer Society is over for yet another year, Beverly Walinski, the chairman of the volunteers for this area, asked me to personally thank everyone who helped make this year's drive such a success, from the volunteers to the donors.
