Couple To Present S.C. <0 Club Program The next meeting of the McHenry Senior Citizens club will be held Monday, May 13, at 7:30 p.m., at East campus cafeteria. The program will be presented by Kitty '..and.1 John Kohout, entitled "From Season to Season". This promises to be a most interesting program. The summer bowling groups are well attended. Miss Hiller Is Married To Genoa City Man The Rev. Everett J. Hiller officiated at the wedding of his niece, Jacquelyn M. Hiller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norbert J. Hiller of 5603 N. Spring Grove road, McHenry, and Robert G. Gifford, son of Mr. and Mrs. George G. Gifford of Genoa City, Wis., which took place Saturday, May 4, at St. John the Baptist Catholic church, Johnsburg. Organist Karen Smith presented special musical selections at the 3 o'clock services. The bride's ivory satin gown, which she designed and fashioned herself, featured an empire waist, a lace bodice and sleeves, high neckline, standup collar trimmed with ruffled lace and a sheer layered overskirt which fell into a wide ruffle at the hemline. She also made her headpiece which featured a floor length tiered veil attached to a Juliet cap. She carried a bridal bouquet of mixed flowers. Diane Conway of Trevor, Wis., attended her sister as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mary Gifford of Genoa City, Wis., the groom's sister, Linda Hiller of McHenry, the bride's sister, Fran Klotz of McHenry, a friend of the bride, and Liz Schatzman of Chicago, another friend of the bride. The attendants wore empire gowns fashioned with apricot bodices, apricot and' ivory plaid skirts and [ plaid jackets. Each wore a wide brimmed apricot hat and carried a bouquet of mixed flowers. Harry Leslie of Edgerton, Wis., brother-in-law of the groom, served as best man. The club has many interesting programs planned, including the annual Hobby and Antique show, a picnic Saturday, July 13, at Veterans Acres, and a special treat when the club's own square dancers will give a program May 27. RTE. 120 McHenry Market Place Shopping Center Groomsmen were Carl Williams of Genoa City, Wis., Larry Schmitt of McHenry, Rick Quammen of Pell Lake, Wis., and Chris Heiden of Lake Geneva, Wis., all friends of the groom. Two-year-old Ken Conway of Trevor, Wis., the bride's nephew, served as ringbearer. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Hiller chose a floor length gown of mint green and wore a rose corsage. The bridegroom's mother wore a pale orange, floor length gown and a similar corsage. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception for 325 guests was held at the Johnsburg Community club. Upon their return from a two- week trip to Acapulco and Mexico City, Mexico, the young people will make their home at 1211 Wisconsin street, Lake Geneva, Wis. The bride attended Marian Central Catholic high school and graduated in 1970. She attended St. Joseph's college in Rensselaer, Ind., for two years. The new Mrs. Gifford worked at the McHenry State bank for two years and is now employed at the First National bank in Lake Geneva, Wis. The bridegroom is a 1965 graduate of Badger high school in Lake Geneva and has served for four years in the U.S. Air Force. He is now employed as a process operator at Morton Chemical company. Christina Topp, David Norin Wed May 4 Nativity Lutheran church, Wonder Lake, was the setting for a beautiful, 5 o'clock c a n d l e l i g h t c e r e m o n y Saturday, May 4, uniting in marriage Miss Christina Lynn Topp and Mr. David Norin. Miss Topp is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Topp of Wonder Lake. Mr. Norin's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Norin of McHenry. Fourteen candelabra were positioned at alternate pews and tied to them were ivory satin bows trimmed with pink flowers and green fern. Pink and ivory altar flowers and candelabra were the only other decorations in the church. The bride was lovely in a candlelight ivory gown of silk faced organza and Nottingham lace. The high neckline, empire bodice was of the same lace, with long organza peplum sleeves and matching lace cuffs. A satin ribbon pull- through lace accented the cuffs and waistline. The semi-A line skirt of ivory organza fell into a full chapel train. She wore a picture hat of matching Nottingham lace with satin ribbons and cathedral length illusion veil. The bride carried a basket of pink arid ivory roses with baby's breath. The basket was the same one she carried nineteen years earlier when she was flower girl for her aunt. Miss Topp was escorted to the altar and given in marriage by her father. Acting as maid of honor was her cousin, Fredi Ori of Wonder Lake and bridesmaids were Cheryl Norin, the bridegroom's sister, Renee Rinka of Niles and Karen Wockholz of DesPlaines, lifelong friends of the bride. The flower girl was the bride's cousin, Amy Berman. The attendants were attired in ivory rose print A-line gowns, with ivory cluny lace accenting the V-neckline and empire bodice with petite moss buttons. The same type lace trimmed the back V-neckline and ruffled down to the deep flounce. They had short, puff sleeves. The girls wore large picture frame hats and each had a basket of pink roses and baby's breath. Dick Johnson served his nephew as best man. Groomsmen were George Norin, a brother, Charles Fernstrom of McHenry and The bride's brothers, Chris Topp, Jr., and Scott Topp. Keith Borchardt, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Topp selected a long, Sheepherders To Hold Felbwhlp Night May ,17 The Sheepherders Fel­ lowship group at Shepherd , of the Hills Lutheran chip-ch, has planned a special fellowship evening May IT at 7:30 p.m. The evening will especially honor the forty new families who have joined the parish in recent months and provide an opportunity for them to become better acquainted with some of the regular membership of the congregation. The event will offer mixer type games so that individuals get to know others. The evening has been planned jointly by the Evangelism committee of the church and the Sheepherders Fellowship group committee headed by Dennis Polewaczyk. A dinner and reception for 150 guests was held at the Hunter Country club in Richmond. Later, the couple left on a honeymoon trip into northern Wisconsin. Friendship Club Pot-Luck Dinner May 11 The Friendship club will meet Saturday, May 11, at 6 P.M., at the First United Methodist church for the monthly pot luck dinner and meeting. Daisy and Harold Wildhagen will be in charge of the program for the evening. Hosts and hostesses will be Dorothy and Eric Steinbiss, - Helen and Reno Eckardt, and Isa Braenne. The project of the Friendship club this year is to raise enough money to purchase a new projector, which is quite expensive. The Projector fund is gradually growing, and the group has hopes of being able to accomplish its goal so the projector can be purchased next season 3BBB»aaMM»afl06 MARCIA BALSTRODE MARRIED--Mrs. Elizabeth Balstrode of Plainfield announce the engagement of her daughter, Marcia, to John G. Wolf of Chicago. He is the son of Mrs. Barney Amann of Raymondsville, Tex., and Fred Wolf of Liberty ville. The young people are planning a June 15 wedding at Faith Presbyterian church, McHenry.
