Hie Woman's club of Wonder Lake will hold installation of new officers May 16 at 8 p.m. at Nativity Lutheran church, Wonder Lake. The installing officer will be Gerry (Mrs. Grant) Ernst, past president of the Wonder Lake club. Mrs. Ernst has also served as trustee and parliamentary advisor for the :lub. She served as the nstructor • for a club interest group in knitting. Because the Woman's club of Wonder Lake is considering the possibility of sponsoring some of the children from the Woodstock Children's home, there will be a representative at the meeting to give some pertinent information. Clifford Redding, executive director of the home for the last fifteen years, will be the speaker. Since this is such a worthwhile project, all members, prospective members, and any woman who is interested is invited to attend the May 16 hieeting. Members are reminded to bring in any money for tickets sold, pertaining to the dinner- dance to be held May 18. The two scholarship winners have been chosen and the awards ill be made at the dance. Members should remember to bring in coupons which they have been saving for the church ladies, and be sure to start saving items for the second annual rummage sale to be held June 22 and 23 at Gladi Bowers' residence. Children under 12 are admitted free. 80 Woodshed Whirlers Attend Annual Banquet Over eighty members of the Woodshed Whirlers Square Dance club were on hand for the annual banquet at the Dutchman's, near Antioch, May 10. After a hearty meal, square dancing was enjoyed, with both club callers on hand. The new officers of the club were introduced and the outgoing officers given a rousing vote of thanks. New officers for the coming year are Jim Jansen, McHenry, president; Ed Winn, Spring Grove, vice-president; Norm Sexton, McHenry, treasurer; and Marion Pflug, McHenry, secretary. The final dance of the season will be May 25 at the Johnsburg Junior high school. Garden Club Presents Free Rose Lecture The Garden club of Illinois Garden center, Niles, will present Mrs. J.J. Invite Husbands To Join Wives At La Leche Meeting Husbands and wives will meet Friday, May 24, at 8 p.m. for a group discussion of the La Leche league. This will provide an opportunity for the men to meet other fathers whose children are breast fed. La Leche league is basically a group of mothers who believe that good* mothering begins with breast feeding.
