PAGE 19 - PLAINDEALER - FRIDAY, MAY 24,1974 Ringwood News (653-9008) (653-9262) (728-0295) Surprise Former Neighbor In Her New Home Darlene Lehmkuhl engineered a group of the neighbors up there on the hill and they all traveled to Spring- Grove to surprise Judy Rich in her new home there. Judy was surprised and very pleased to see the group out for coffee and to see her. They have a nice home in Spring Grove and we hope they will be very happy there. Those who went were Joan Parfrey, Darlene Lehmkuhl, and new daughter, Michele, Chris Gillespie, Patti Miller and boys, Lee and Scott, and Doris Low. LADIES "500" CARD PARTY The Ladies "500" card party was held at Vivian Jackson's home in Richmond this last week. Helen Winn must have found a four leaf clover and stuck it in her pocket each time she has gone to card club because she went home with high score again this time. Mabel Hawley evidently didn't find a four leaf clover like Helen did as she was low scorer for the day. It was good to see Mabel out and enjoying the card game again after her recent illness. CANASTA CLUB " Canasta club met at Frank and Mertie Harrison's home Saturday night. High scores went to Muriel Benoy and Bob Decker. SUNDAY SCHOOL OUT FOR SUMMER Last Sunday was the final session for Sunday School classes at the Ringwood church for the summer months. Classes will reconvene in September at which time parents and children will be contacted. ABOUT TOWN Last Sunday, Mrs. Mabel Hawley enjoyed a visit from her niece and nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kobrine of Oak Lawn. Several folks in the area attended the Landowners- Snowmobilers dinner-dance held at the Johnsburg Community Club last Saturday evening. They were the William Cristys, Don Justeris, the Art Stillings. the Harry Kings and Pattie Miller. Of course there were a lot of others we haven't mentioned but hope they all enjoyed themselves. Grandma and Grandpa Walkington were delighted to have their two granddaughters with them for the past weekend. They went to Addison to see son, Jay Walkington, and daughter-in-law, Jan, and brought Jolie and Karen home with them until Sunday when they took them back to Mom and Dad We are so glad to hear that Dolly Malsch came home from the hospital Wednesday of last week. This past weekend Uncle David Waller of Bellwood, Mrs. Vera Schultz of Elgin and Mrs. Gust Carlson and son, Dean, of Richmond were visitors in the Clayton Bruce home. Dave and Vera also visited with the nieces and nephews. Also on the busy weekend of the Bruces, Clayt and Virginia attended the wedding of another niece in Belvidere, Miss Valerie Laseman. They had a very nice time visiting with all the relatives. BIRTHDAYS We have many for whom we wish a very happy birthday. To Jessie Carlson, Mertie Harrisoi? and Barb Byron on May 26 and Roger John Petska and Ann Lee Hogan on May 27 a happy birthday. Gary Hosier RESTAURANT James Heard Recognized At Huron Graduation Among 118 seniors who received their diplomas at graduation from Huron college, Huron, South Dakota, last Saturday in the Huron arena was James Neal Heard, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. James N. Heard, Sr.' of McHenry and husband of Janet Lawson Heard. The Rev. William P. Barker, pastor of the First Presbyterian church in Allentown, Pa., delivered the main address at the afternoon program. Climaxing two days of commencement activities was celebrates his day on the twenty-eighth and May 29 is shared by A1 Oonk and Tom Walkington. Fred Bowman, Jr., and Mark Gillespie share May 30 for their special day. Happy birthday to all of you and until next week don't get overheated in this heat wave we are having. the alumni-senior dinner in the campus center. The class of 1924 was recognized at this time. Miss Gladys Pylek distinguished Huron college graduate in 1911, was featured speaker at the annual Huron college spring lecture and recognition convocation held in the Timmins Fine Arts center. Twenty-one graduating seniors, one junior and one faculty member received recognition for their contributions to Huron college. Certificates were presented to those nominated for mention in "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges". They included James Heard.
