Swim Instruction To Begin At YMCA Pool The Lake Region YMCA, 7350 S. Route 31 in Crystal Lake, is offering a summer swim program in their clear, warm, indoor pool located on the West side of Route 31 just South of Route 14. SWIM INSTRUCTION for pre-school, youth, high school, and adults will be offered starting June 24, JutyJB, July 22, Aug. 5, and Aug. l^TClass will meet Monday through Friday for two weeks for ten lessons. Saturday classes meet once a week for * 10 Saturdays beginning on June 29. RECREATION SWIMS June 24 through Sept. 1 are as follows: YOUTH (7-ir yrs.) Monday through Friday 1:00 - 2:00 and 3:30 - 4:30 p.m., Saturday 2:30 - 4:00 p.m. HIGH SCHOOL (includes those entering high school in September) Monday through Thursday 2:00 - 3:00, 4:30 - 5:30 and 8:00 - 8:45 p.m., Friday 2:00 - 3:00, 4:30 - 5:30 and 9:00 - 10:00, Saturday 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. ADULTS (18 yrs. and up) Monday through Thursday Noon - 1:00, 5:30 - 6:00, 8:45 - 9:30 p.m., Friday noon - 1:00, 5:30-6:00 p.m. The above times are for adults only. Adults also swim in lanes from 8:45 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on weekdays. Saturdays 9:15 - 6:00 p.m. and Sundays from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Qualified lifeguards on duty whenever the pool is Open. Klapperich competed in the 100 and 220 yd. dashes, plus a relay and the triple jump in scoring 194 points, surpassing his school record of 185. The young man competed in the State Finals as a sophomore in the 100 yd. dash, and this past season was a repeat performer in the 100 and 220 yd. dashes in the State Finals in Charleston. Last year he flew completely around the world with his father in their twin - engine Aztec, gave 65 exhibitions in 24 countries on five continents. Combining good golf with good humor, young and handsome Hahn will make your day. The fourth annual one-day horse trial sponsored by the Fox River Valley Pony club is scheduled for Saturday, June 8, starting at 8 a.m. It will be held at the Barrington Hills Riding center, Bateman road and Hwy. 62, Barrington Hills. This is a three-phase event: Cross country, dressage and stadium jumping. Coasting. with a 9-2 lead going into the top of the 4th the Rusty Nail was 'surprised' as the Bake Shop scored 10 big runs and take the lead. Three Rusty Nail runs in the bottom half of the 4th tied the score at 12 runs each and after 5 more Bake Shop runs in the top of the 5th inning Rusty Nail clinched the come-from behind victory with nine runs of their own in the bottom half of the same inning. For the Riverside Bake Shop Jim Meeker went 3 for 4 including 2 doubles; Russ Weyland and John Little both added 3 hits each including a triple by Weyland and a 2-run homer by Little. Bryce Klontz contributed a run scoring triple and two singles. Rusty Nail's hitting again proved adequate as Gary Schmitt's 5 for 5 with two homeruns indicate. Mrs. Town Club Beaton phoned to say Bee Line is wrong about treating toadstools. Ours are thriving where a tree was removed and roots remain. So, now Mrs. Beaton says the toadstools will eventually put those roots' to rest, then disappear. Jim Keevil says his Cubs didn't really join that league out west. They just stopped off in Wichita. Benefit Horse Show For Cystic Fibrosis Saturday, June 8th and Sunday, June 9th at 9 a.m. will be the second annual benefit horse show for Cystic Fibrosis at the Plainfield Riding Club showgrounds at 95th Street and Carls Drive, between routes 30 and 59 northwest of Plainfield. Appaloosa horses will be showing on Saturday beginning with 74 colts at halter. There will be halter classes for stallions, geldings, and mares. A Jr. grand and reserve >ohampion as well as a grand and reserve champion will be chosen in the halter classes. There will be classes for Jr. and Senior Appaloosa horses as well as for Jr. riders 13 and under, and 14 - 17. There will be jumping, trail, pleasure, reining, bareback^ horsemanship English, Indian - costume, stake, stump, and- rope race, lead line 6 and - under, and walk trot 10 'and. tinder.
