The game between the Cubs and Tigers, here, June 25, ended with the Cubs defeating the Tigers, 8-7 No games are scheduled for July 4, and July 9, it's the Cubs and Cards in Lakeland Park, and A's versus Tigers, in McCullom Lake. The baseball association h®ilds its annual tag day in McHenry, July 6. COMPANY Visiting Mrs. Harriet McNamara recently were her granddaughter and husband, Sharon and Ray Taylor, of Sacramento, Calif. The Taylors had a pleasant three day visit with Mrs. McNamara, before leaving for Florida, where they were going to vacation. HOME AGAIN Eleven year old Jerry Sullivan is home and feeling much better since he had his appendix removed in a late night operation at Harvard hospital, June 22. Bender arrived at East Bay camp at Lake Bloomington Sunday, June 30. Don Rahn, director of bands at Highland Junior high school, Libertyville, is guest conductor of the symphonic band, and Wesley Schumacher, director of bands at Indian Trail Junior high school. Plainfield, is guest conductor of the cadet band. 4-H HEWS 1 MODERN MISSES Parents and family were invited to the June meeting of the Modern Misses. The meeting was set up for fair books and projects. After Jane Eppel called the meeting to order, the roll call was taken. Our guests who attended were Mrs. Herdrick, Mrs. Suchor, Mrs. Blume, Mrs. Freund and Debbie, Mrs. Phillips, Mrs. Harrer, Mrs. Jackson and Mrs. Opfer. Committee reports followed. The Federation and Junior Leader workshop reports were given. Fair books were then passed out and discussed.
