Haines were married before the altar of St. Mary's Catholic church, McHenry. They repeated their nuptial vows before the Rev. -Joseph F. Kulak at a 7 o'clock service in a church decorated with bouquets of yellow and white daisies accented with pink flowers. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George J. Rodenkirch of 603 N. Green street, McHenry, and her bridegroom is the son of Mr. «nd Mrs. George R. Haines of 813 MH1 street, McHenry. The pretty bride wore a white ^StNG-ALONG - Preparing for next Saturday night's Sing-Along at St. Patrick's Catholic church are, 'from left, standing, Joan Bauer, chairman; Mary Kantorski and Ray McGee. At the piano is Mary ;Ann Sharp. The get-together is set for Saturday, July 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the church hall. The parish -guitar group will be present, as well as three soloists from the community. Senior citizens will be guests of honor. The public is invited, regardless of age. Satin ribbon encircled the waist, and the back of the chapel length train /was trimmed with a bow and streamers. Her face frame hat of beaded lace held a bouffant, three-tiered fingertip veil made by the bride's mother. She c a r r i e d h e i r l o o m handkerchiefs given to her by her namesakes - a fifty-year- old silk handkerchief from her maternal grandmother, Mary Stoffel, and a sixty-year-old handkerchief from her paternal grandmother, Ann Rodenkirch, Sr. The bride wore a diamond necklace, a gift from the groom, and carried a small, silver beaded rosary belonging to her mother. Leah Rode of McHenry attended the bride as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Teresa Stoffel of McHenry, the bride's cousin, Annette Szczepkowski of Crystal Lake, the groom's sister, Krista Justen of McHenry, a friend of the bride, and Jean Rodenkirch of McHenry, the bride's sister. Mari-lyn Haines, the groom's sister, served as flower girl. The attendants wore yellow, floor length gowns of daisy flocked voile fashioned with long sheer sleeves ruffled at the wrist. They wore matching juliet caps accented with blusher veils. Each carried a basket of yellow and white daisies with baby's breath accented with pink and green ribbons cascading from the baskets. The gowns and hats were all designed and made by the bride's mother. A friend of the groom, James R. Smith of Johnsburg, served as best man. Groomsmen were Robert Rodenkirch of McHenry , the bride's brother, Gerry and Steve Haines of McHenry, brothers of the groom, and Rod Szczepkowski of Crystal Lake, the groom's brother-in-law. Serving as usher was Gerry Rodenkirch of Wonder Lake, the bride's cousin. The bride's mother chose a light blue knit, floor length gown styled with a rhinestone bodice and wore rhinestone accessories and a cymbidium orchid corsage. The groom's mother a floor length blue crepe skirt with a hand- crocheted blue and white bodice and matching stole, made by herself. She wore white accessories and a cymbidium orchid corsage. Immediately following the services, a reception was held for 125 guests at the McHenry Country club. A replica of the bridal invitation in the form of a painting with daisy background and the words, "Together Always", was displayed at the church and in the reception hall. Upon their return from a wedding trip, the newlyweds plan to make their home in McHenry. The young people are graduates of M.C.H.S. The bride attended Moser Secretarial school, Chicago, and is now employed as a legal secretary for a McHenry firm. The judging followed the preliminary appearance before the judges in swimsuits and formals. The interviews with the panel of five judges was scored by each of the judges, and those scorecards will be returned to the prospective judges before the finals. The public will watch these ^oung women representing thirteen communities in McHenry county, and if past years can be a criterion, an overflow crowd will be in the grandstand area for the 8:30 p.m. start of this twenty-sixth Miss McHenry County pageantry. Thought For Food Eggplant Aromatic Slice 1 medium eggplant and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Saute in hot butter or salad oil until lightly browned on both sides. Peel and slice 2 medium- sized onions. Slice Vi pound of cheese. Place alternate slices of eggplant, sliced onion and sliced cheese in casserole. Add 2 tea spoons aromatic bitters to two 8-oz. cans tomato sauce, and ad ditional salt, if needed. Pour over ingredients in casserole and bake in a moderate oven (375°F.) for 20 minutes. Yields six servings.
