My sister, Pat Castiglione, and her little girl, Christie Anne, drove out from Rosemont for the day. Pat brought along her friends, Natalie Lake, and her two- month-old son, Stephen, also from Rosemont, and Carole Hrametz and her three-month- old son, Christopher, from DesPlaines. We had a lovely day visiting and in spite of the fact that none of us could get the grill started, we enjoyed our delicious lunch. Carole and Natalie had never visited our area and they plan to come back for another fun day, soon! ITALIAN DINNER The home of Jerry and Elaine Worth had the aroma of an Italian restaurant one recent Tuesday night. Jerry and Elaine entertained friends at their home and everyone enjoyed the delicious spaghetti dinner they served. Guests who had a fun evening were John and Mary Lou Stasiek of Harvard and their four daughters, Kathy, Jackie, Jill and Holly, and their friend, Jody, and Lee and Mary Hanson of Des Plaines and their sons, Michael and Timmy. RECENT VISITORS l>es and Marv Dobbins were once again the host and hostess with the mostess when they entertained guests at their home from sunny Florida Mary was glad to spend time with her sister and her sister's husband while they were visiting from their home in Deerfield Beach. Mr and Mrs. Leonard Arnold had a pleasant stay with Les and Mary while they were in our town. A CRAFTCLUB? Sharon Gacek and I have what we think is a neat idea! Please let us know what you think. We were discussing the problems of being a housewife who doesn't necessarily get herself interested in outside activities but who does have craft interests that she works on in the evenings at her home. For example, knitting, needlepoint, crocheting, crewel, embroidery, etc. Our idea is to form a social- craft club. That way those of us who would get together once a month could possibly help someone who is "stuck" for the moment, or could learn new stitches, etc. The idea is that the craft you are working on is small enough to bring with you and convenient to work on in some other home. So, if you would be interested in spending an evening a month like this, do give Sharon a call (385-3777) or phone me at 385- 6448. We think it would be a fun and productive evening. BUSY WEEKEND I^ast Saturday night three families gathered at the Don Oacek residence in Westmont for a fun cousin-get together and to see a new baby girl. Don and Rita Gacek were happy to show off their new little daughter, Tracy, to John, Sharon, Jay and Antoinette Gacek. Jay enjoyed playing with his cousins, Michael Gacek and Danielle Mydlowski, who was also there with her parents, Jacqui and Danny. From what I heard the cousins had a very pleasant visit and hope to get-together again soon! On Sunday Dennis and Bernice Kurowski were guests at the Gacek home here in Lakeland Park. They enjoyed their day of relaxation and John and Sharon were glad they were able to spend the day. Jay and baby Antoinette had lots of fun with Uncle Dennis and Aunt Bernice. The next time the doorbell rang it was John's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bielawski, who decided to drive out for a visit. Jay was beside himself with excitement and baby Antionette enjoyed all the attention she received too. All in all it was once again a busy and fun weeekend for the Gacek family. WITH SYMPATHY Our sincere sympathy is extended to the family of Mrs. Rita Zimny. Mrs. Zimny, a long time area resident, died in her home last week. I know she will be missed not only by her realtives but by her many neighbors and friends here in Lakeland Park. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! My family and I had a fun Sunday last week when we drove to the Milwaukee Zoo for the early part of the day. It is a lovely place and our three children, Kevin, Brian and Suzi had lots of fun staring at the various animals. We particularly enjoyed visiting the children's zoo as they could pet several different animals. Though somewhat skeptical at first, they got braver as they met each new animal! From the Zoo we went to the Goodwin residence at Pleasant Lake, Wis., and enjoyed a lovely visit and delicious dinner. Our friends, Pete and Susie Schuelar, were there waiting for us as it is Susie's parents cottage. It was a long day but certainly a fun day for this family! COOK-OUT PARTY! The Laursen family had an especially happy day last Sunday when they celebrated Mom's birthday. Gayle was pleased her husband, Robert, and their daughters, Pam and Patty, brought along a birthday cake when they ventured to Fish Lake Beach for yet another family cook out, camp- out and fun day of relaxation. We're glad to hear you had fun celebrating your special day this year, Mrs. Laursen! Belated wishes to you for a happy year! BEACH RESTRICTED! Your cooperation is asked for yet another week to help keep West Beach restricted so children taking swimming lessons won't be interrupted. The beach is used for swimming lessons until approximately 12:30 p.m. and after that time is open to residents as usual.
