There were four teams tied for third and fourth place at 8 under par. The team of Art Jackson , Norm Poirier, Dick Turner and Sy Carlson, the team of Chris Newkirk, Frank O'Leary, Bud Elbersen and Herm Zwissler, the team of Frank Cuda, Paul Fidler, Ken Holmes and Tom O'Connell, Jr., and the team of Ben Chelini, Doc Donnelley, Carl Schmidt and Bob Schmaling. The club championship starts on Sunday, August 4. Defending champions are Art Jackson in the Club Championship, Dick Turner in the Handicap Club Championship, and George Johnson in the Senior Handicap Club Championship. One of the favorites in the Handicap Club Championship is Herb (Traps) Reihansperger FOOTBALL REGISTRATION The McHenry Hornets will hold their football registration on Saturday, Aug. 3, at city park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. All boys in Grade school between the ages of 8 through 15 are eligible. Registration fee will include equipment, insurance and bussing to the games. The Hornets will open their season, Sunday, Sept. 8, against Round Lake. Section 2. All Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance be and the same are hereby repealed Section 3. Frank Schafers Return From Family Trip Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schafer of Dutch Creek Woodlands have just returned from a two-week trip in their motor home, visiting Silver Dollar City, Mo., and Six Flags of America in St. Louis. The couple climbed the Arch, saw historic sights and enjoyed a baseball game at the Stadium. He was a former resident of Elmhurst. Born Dec. 25, 1901, in Chicago, he was employed as an electrical engineer for Hot Point for 33 years, having retired in 1959. The trip completed their traveling with all their grandchildren in Europe and the United States. The Schafers returned in April from Greece, where they visited their son and his wife, Richard and Mildred Schafer, and three grandchildren, Pam, Kim and Brenda. For a month they traveled through Europe. This week Richard brought his family back to the United States. They will return Sept. 1 to Athens and then come back to the States in January on his ship, the USS R.L. Page, and will reside in Philadelphia. ANNA ADAMS Miss Anna Adams, 83, of 3510 N Chapel Hill road, McHenry, died Wednesday, July 31, in Memorial hospital, Woodstock. Miss Adams was born March 8, 1891, daughter of Castor and Emma Huemann Adams. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Oeffling, of Burbank, Calif., several nieces and nephews Visitation was scheduled after 8 p.m. Thursday at the George R. Justen & Son chapel.
