Wednesday, Prayer Service, 7:30 p m Something wonderful happened yesterday. I was walking in Grandma's garden, feeling a great sadness that she would never again walk there with me. Her favorite flower, the creamy-blossomed yucca, stood out delicately against the blue sky, breaking my heart with its loveliness. A yellow bee trembled over it a moment, then settled on a pearly petal. Bright- hued blossoms waved in the gentle breeze, pond ripples sparkled in the sun, and for one golden instant, I felt her presence. A prayer she'd taught me years ago came to my lips, "Grant me, God, eyes of the Spirit to see, in the beauty of Your world, reflections of infinity." I thought of how clearly Grandma had seen God's goodness. Her love of God and devotion to His Church had shone in every thing she said and did. Because of her devotion I too felt God's love all about me. I knew then and there that f would never be lonely again with the Church to sustain and guide me.
