Thicken the juice delicately with Argo corn starch. Deep Dish Peach Pie 3 pounds peaches (12 medium) V; cup firmly packed brown sugar 3 tablespoon corn starch lA teaspoon salt V; cup light corn syrup 2 tablespoons margarine Pare and slice peaches. Mix together sugar, corn starch and salt; stir in syrup. Lightly toss with peaches. Turn into a N0x6x2-inch) baking dish or 1 '/2-quart casserole. Dot wilh margarine. PrepareV)as- try topping by mixing« to­ gether l1/, cups flour and teaspoon salt in mixing bowl. Using a pastry blender or two knives, cut, in l/2 cup marga­ rine until fine crumbs form. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons water over mixture, tossing to blend well Press dough firmly into ball with hands. Roll out on lightly floured surface and trim to size y4 inch wider than top of baking dish on all sides. Cut slits to permit es­ cape of steam during baking. Place dough over peaches let­ ting it extend up sides of dish. Bake in a 425°F oven about 40 minutes or until peaches are tender and crust is lightly browned. Makes 6 servings.
