Criminal Justice Council To Hoar Program Roports Edward M. Vass, executive director of the Crescent Regional Criminal Justice council, has announced that the monthly meeting of the full council will be held Aug. 26 at 3:30 p.m., at the Back Door restaurant, West Chicago. The public and members of the press are invited and encouraged to attend the council office "opening" between l and 3 p.m. The agenda for the Aug. 26 meeting will include minutes of Tax Relief Is Offered To Senior Citizens Gov. Dan Walker last Friday signed House Bill 2125 making senior citizens eligible for about $100,000 in additional tax relief. the last meeting, financial report, executive director's report^ bylaws, proposals under consideration, interim and status reports on existing programs, other and new business. The meeting will be chaired by Neil Mahoney, judge, 16th Judicial circuit. The bill exempts tne federal nutrition program for the elderly from the state sales tax so that senior citizens do not have to pay the sahfe tax on their cash contrbutioris for the federal meals. Under the Older Americans Act of 1965, federal grants were made to individuals or groups for providing meals to the elderly.
