He barely nosed out Hank Leisten (211) and George Johnson (212) in the final round played at the club on Sunday, Aug. 18. Tied for fourth place at 217 were Ken Holmes and Jim Gillette. Our congratulations to Herman on his victory. Ed Buss shot a fine 74 in the third round of tire Club Championship for a 225 total as Gary Adams had his third consecutive 76 for a total of 228. Art Jackson with a 88 and a total of 230 is in third place, with Don Hojnack^ in fourth with 233. Should be a great finish in this event and it's still anybody's ball game. Jay Sayler has a comfortable 7 stroke lead as the Handicap Championship goes into its final week. Jay has a 54 hole total of 207, followed by Jerry Harpling with 214, Jack Smithson 216, and Tony Victor 217. In Class B Marty Jemiola leads 103-105. LaVerne Harpling is leading at Low Net 158. Low Putts were Myrt Johnson and Mary Mahoney. In Class C Carla Wright is leading with 114-116. There is a tie after two rounds for Grace Napier and Carol Bolger, 171 each. A Grandmother's event of low net was also played, winners in Class A - Virginia Turner, Class B - Myrt Johnson and Carol Bolger in Class C.
