VACATION IN WISCONSIN Our family spent a portion of our vacation camping out at Baraboo, Wise We packed the tent, goodies, blankets, sleeping bags, etc. for the long Labor Day weekend Thinking we were prepared for anything, to our surprise Wisconsin suffered the coldest Labor weekend in their history. We were lucky to have lots of blankets, but forgot the heavy coats and long underwear. The first evening concluded with a raging thunderstorm, akin to a mini-hurricane. Many of the campers had their tents literally blown out from under them No matter how much one does to weather a tent, the rain still gets in during a strom like that. Fortunately, the rest of our stay was very pleasant. Fall had come early to Wisconsin as many of the trees were beginning to show their colors. This Labor Day weekend campout is beginning to become a family tradition. Many of mv husband. Jim's relatives cu""pcd s-: ' ;les bounding ours. Am', .. SPONSORED BY: GUETTITER'S SERVICE STATION Fish of McHenry provides many services for area residents, but one important 4 function is the referral service. A call to Fish can provide an answer on where to contact people with special skills. A caller can find information on adoption, breastfeeding, drug abuse or welfare services as well as other agencies dealing with specific problems. A call to Fish can supply information on obtaining sick room supplies, someone to speak a foreign language, to do counseling, or to perform other skills and services. There are things that Fish cannot ordinarily do. Fish is not an employment agency or a real estate service. Not all' problems work out beautifully. Not all problems are easily solved. Fish is proud of its record but there are disappointments too. That's why Fish always needs new volunteers. If you would like to volunteer for telephone duty or transportation, please call Fish, 385-8020, or Arlette Rietesel, 385-0289. Fish is an all volunteer group supported by McHenry Woman's club and ten McHenry churches. G.T. Fish has been asked to help a young couple who have a one month old baby girl. These people need to set up housekeeping from "scratch." The husband has found work, BIRTHDAY GIFT -- Jerry Cordrey, right, who serves on the- Bishop's committee, St. Paul's Episcopal church, presents' birthday gift to Father Arthur McKay, pastor of the McHenry church. And he has done that in order to take a position as assistant manager at Spurgeon's Department store. Still residing in Springfield are his parents, four brothers and three sisters. He graduated from Eastern Illinois university in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science in Business degree, majoring in Personnel Management. While in school he served as vice-president of his fraternity, Phi Beta Lambda. the hour of 7:30 o'clock p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City HalT, McHenry, Illinois, at which time any person or persons interested may appear and be heard.
