ELM (Rte. 120) McHENRY, ILL. IN THE LAND OF GIANTS i- 8 Our country is moving to ward fewer and fewer... but bigger . . . companies. In all the United States, there are only four giant auto compa nies left, a few giant super market chains, less than a dozen major appliance man ufacturers. Which means that the American buyer has fewer choices, fewer ways to express his view on what should be available. Now some people want to do the same thing to bank ing, so that we'd have a handful of banks instead of about 14,000. We don't think that's a good idea. What we need are more choices, not more giants. What this country needs are banks which are locally owned* and controlled, so that y&ur money stays home and builds a better life for you. What this country needs is the personal dimension that independent communi ty banks like us provide. Come on in and see.
