Highland drive, McHenry The lovely bride chose a floor length, white bridal gown of o r g a n z a , t r i m m e d w i t h chantilly lace, with a d e t a c h a b l e t r a i n . H e r v e i l i s also trimmed in matching chantilly lace. She wore a gold heart shaped locket, a gift of the bridegroom. Linda Smith was maid of honor and Laura Farwell acted as bridesmaid The Junior bridesmaid was Faith Ann Neubauer, McHenry, and flowergirl was Mary May of Crystal Lake The bridesmaids and junior bridesmaid wore floor length light blue dresses with royal blue velvet collars and cuffs and matching royal blue pic ture hats. The flower girl 's dress was styled similar to the bride's, a floor length white dress with small flocked light blue flowers on it, trimmed in light blue. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Neubauer chose a floor length blue-violet, long sleeved sheath dress with matching accessories and a silver grey mink stole. The bridegroom's mother wore a floor length turquoise knit gown with matching accessories. A reception was held in St. Patrick's church hall for 100 guests. Following a short wedding trip touring Illinois and nearby Wisconsin, the young couple will live in McHenry. Both young people graduated from McHenry high school. The bride is employed as a sales clerk in a local store and her husband is a carpenter. Band Performs At Milk Center The McHenry Senior Citizens club kitchen band was a guest of the Milk Center Senior Citizens at Harvard for a pot- luck luncheon before giving a program recently. It was a most delicious luncheon, with a period of good fellowship between the band members and the Milk Center Senior Citizens and their guests. Space was limited, but the dancing couple performed, the soloists received much ac claim , and there was a standing ovation at the end of the program. It was a most enjoyable af ternoon for both the audience and the kitchen band. The band has only three more programs to give before the season ends. Miss Strojny Is Honored Rose Anne Strojny was honored at three recent bridal showers. She will become the bride of Ted Jensen Oct. 26. The first of the showers was held at a Roselle, III., club, given by Mrs. Pat Radzynski, Mrs. Anthony Klonowski and Mrs. John Romeir, aunts and cousin of the bride-to-be. f ( The second, held at the1 American Legion hall, McHenry, was given by close personal friends and business acquaintances. OFFICE 8 McHENRY State Garden Club Center To Present Program The Garden Club of Illinois Garden center, Niles, will present "Wildflowers - An Artist's View" by Mrs. Kenneth (Charlene) Larsen of Algonquin. The program is being given at the Golf-Mill Movie theatre, 9210 Milwaukee avenue, Niles, Friday, Oct. 25, 10 a.m., and is offered free to the public. The artist's lecture- demonstration will include a collection of shelf fungus engraving of wildflowers and nature objects. This will be the last program to be presented at this center. The Garden Club of Illinois Garden Information center will also be closed the end of this month. Ladies Guild Holds Communion Breakfst Oct. 27 St. Patrick's Ladies' guild will hold a Communion break fast following the 8:30 a.m. Mass Sunday, Oct. 27, in the church hall. Homemakers Cultural Arts Day October 23 The McHenry County Homemakers Extension association announces its annual Harvesting our Heritage, which is a cultural arts day. The date to remember is Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The place is the McHenry County fairgrounds, Building "D". The day features such things as a delicious Bake Sale, Farmers Market, Grandma's Country Kitchen (snack bar- open all day) with lunch served 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Also, each county Unit will have a booth filled with a variety of items for sale. Besides the food and art and craft ideas, there will be demonstrations on the Spinning Wheel, Cro-hooking,m Crewel Embroidery, and Ribbon Hoses and Fabric Flowers.
