I to Dec 31. 1972. are due money from Uncle Sam The cost of living pay raise authorized by Congress on Oct I 1972. and held back by the Picsident until Dec 31. 1972. is payable to all WILLIAM AHRENS William Ahrens, 73, of 11816 Greenwood avenue, Wood­ stock, died Oct 17 at Memorials hospital, Woodstock. He was born in Chicago Sept. 15, 1901, the son of the late Henry and Mary Hansen Ahrens. Mr. Ahrens lived in the McHenrv area for about 60 years. He was a retired lift truck operator at the Wood­ stock Die Casting Co. Survivors include his wife, Margaret, nee Sperry, whom he married July 2, 1961, in Waukegan; one brother, Henry Ahrens of San Jose, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Russell (Mildred) Stickels, Grayslake. He was preceded in death by a sister Elsie Goss. Last rites were conducted by Rev. Ralph Smith of the First United Methodist church, McHenry, on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Peter M. Justen and Son funeral home. Burial was in Woodland cemetery. WILLIAM DAVIS William Davis, 25, of 1623 W.Chase, Chicago, died Saturday, Oct. 19, in Evanston hospital. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton (Mary Doherty) Davis of Sunnyside. Mr Davis was born Aug. 11, 1949, in Chicago. Besides his parents, he leaves two sisters, Monica and Maureen, and three brothers, Mark, Michael and Neil, all at home except Neil, who resides in Woodstock; the maternal grandmother, Mrs. Bridget Doherty of McHenry^and the paternal grandmother, ^TVfrs. Irma Davis, Chicago. The body rested at the George R. Justen & Son chapel until 11 o'clock Tuesday morning, when a funeral Mass was offered at St. John the Baptist Catholic church, Johnsburg Burial was in the church cemetery.
