«»*«E 4 - PLAINDEALER KRIDAY. NOVEMBER 1. 1974 Eastwood Manor Maqr Ann Bellak 385-5705 Weber Property Clearly Posted For No Hunting Recently the Weber property at 2801 Lincoln Road was sold. The new owners called and asked if I might print this ar ticle in my column as a suggestion that parents be sure and tell their children and their friends that visit them in our area the following message: Children in our area are coming onto their property at 2801 Lincoln Road and shooting at the ducks in the pond. They are wrong to be on private property and shooting where a sign is clearly posted that it is forbidden is unheard of. Several people are watching that area, including the police, when they are caught and they will be, they will be prosecuted. Somebody could be seriously- hurt or even killed. No shooting is allowed, do something about this before it is too late. It's pretty bad when you can't enjoy your new property and be in fear of letting your children play outside for fear of them getting shot. Please make certain all of you tell your children that immediately. FIRE Recently a fire was reported at 2801 Lincoln Road by a young man in Eastwood Manor. EASTWOOD MANOR RESIDENTS As a safety precaution, we are asking the children who live in Eastwood Manor to walk around the wooded area until the hunting season is over. Will you remind Please!! your children?! HUNTERS Be sure you are careful when hunting, you are so close to Hilltop school. I'm sure you could ask almost any child in the entire school and they wouldn't know what 200 yards from the nearest dwelling means. A lot of the first grade children do not know the dif ference between a foot and a yard, let alone 200 yards. It could be more than possible for one of them to wonder where they shouldn't be, please avoid any unnecessary accidents, be on the ALERT at all times!! . EDWARD W. And we need new ones up definitely. My second letter will be for making Eastwood and Manor a 3 point stop instead of my original stop sign alone. Perhaps it will slow down some of the speeders and mostly because there has been just simply too many close calls on that corner, and why not avoid something before it's too late!! MINI BIKES I have been informed that mini-bike riders are riding too late, plus driving them way too fast, over holes, etc:, etc. Will you please tell your children to drive more carefully belfore they get hurt or hurt some other child. Also to be more con siderate the hours that they drive them. I understand one child actually rode his mini- bike right through one of the vacant B.K.T. houses, how dangerous can you get?! One lady volunteered at our meeting, I believe it was Mrs McLena, please give me a call and I'll tell you the section that I had in mind for you INTERESTING INFORMATION The last meeting was held in 1968. They used to meet at the barns in our subdivision. The association had strength, when they got together. They ob tained street lights, speed limit signs, etc., through the association. At this time I would like to thank Mrs. Beverly Cochran of Eastwood Lane for her help both in the political coffee and for the Homeowner's Association meeting. Also I would once again like to extend our appreciation to Pastor Mclntyre for the use of Faith church, and to the Principal Mr. Nilles, who took time from his busy schedule to attend our meeting. There is now an Eastwood M a n o r H o m e o w n e r ' s Association, it's in the begin ning stages, but there is one. Like I told all my neighbors or at least the vast majority by beingin a Homeowner's Association you have nothing to lose and onlv something to gain!! PATH TO HILLTOP It looks real good, maybe within two weeks to a month. Will tell you all the details when I am free to do so. Per severance pays off in the long run!! Offer Soybean Grade Check For County Farmers There have been quite a few requests by farmers on how they can check the grade and damage factor of their soybeans, says George Young, University of Illinois Extension adviser in McHenry county. Young says samples can be sent to the Illinois Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Warehouse Grain Inspection, 315 N. 6th street, DeKalb, 111., 60115. If a complete grade and damage analysis is desired, the sample must contain at least 5 pounds of soybeans and sealed in an airtight container. If a damage analysis is all that is desired the sample should weigh at least 1 pound, and it need not be in an airtight container. There is a charge for the analysis. Bills will be mailed. Young says the grain in spector will send a certificate reporting the test results to the sample owner. Include name, address, and phone number with samples.
