CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE There will be a candlelight service at the Ringwood church at 11 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24. If you are having a family gathering that night, why not plan to come as a group and worship together. What better way is there to put Christ back into Christmas! ABOUT TOWN Mrs. Mabel Hawley enjoyed a visit last week from her grandson, Gary Reinwall, and his chum, Joe Knaack, both of McHenry. Bill and Shirley Cristy en­ tertained the Cristy families last Sunday evening for their Christmas get-together. Clayton and Virginia Bruce attended the wedding of their niece Marylyn Culvey in Belvidere. On Friday Clayt's sister and brother-in-law visited with them all the way from Ava, Mo. They really had a beautiful visit "500" CARD PARTY "500" card partv was held at the Walt Low home last Saturday evening. A good time was had by all and lots of visiting was done and guess what, all six couples were present. Good thing there was no snow or we all would have to have had card club without Walt and Doris 'cause they are noted for taking off when there is. Sure glad they were there this time. Dorothy Benoy and Lou Winn went home with high prizes and Ruth Rawson and Glenn Benoy went away with low prizes. BIRTHDAY DINNER There was sure a houseful at Patti Miller's on Sunday, Dec. 15, when the families all got together to celebrate the December birthdays. They were Scott Miller and Pam Kehoe on Dec. 8, Dan Kehoe on Dec. 19, Lee Miller on Dec. 26 and Ed Erwin, Dec. 28. Then there is Jerry Meyer (Donna's husband) Dec. 18 so we all signed a big birthday card to mail to Jerry. Those to help with the celebration were Walt and Alice Mae Wilcox of Wood­ stock, Bob and Sue Low and Bobbie, Mabel Thomas and Sue and Ed Erwin and children all of McHenry. Pam and Dan Kehoe of Elkhorn, Larry and Carrie Lou Thomas and children of McHenry and then of course Grandma and Grandpa Low, Ray and Tom. Lots of many more happy birthdays to come and lots of food. Sure missed Linda and Bill and Nicky from Dubuque, 4-H Projects; Fine Variety Of Opportunity From food and nutrition to arts and crafts, clothing, health, and beef, the list of "lop 10" Illinois 4-H projects for the past year shows the great variety of interests served in the youth program of the University of Illinois Cooperative Extension service, says Pat Frank, McHenry county Extension adviser in Home Economics. The list with number of Illinois 4-H'ers enrolled in the projects include: food and nutrition, 41,120; arts and crafts, 40,934; clothing, 25,326; health, 12,963; beef, 8,198; leadership, 7,557; public speaking, 6,889; fruit and vegetable production, 6,526; photography, 6,368; and flower gardening, 6,223. He received notification at the conference that he has been unanimously selected as a full member in the Central Neuropsychiatric association. Scientific programs were presented at the conference which consisted of recent research on Narcotic addiction and possible neurological- cased effects of acupuncture. The Central Neurop­ sychiatric association has been in existence for an extensive period of time and is comprised of psychiatrists and neurologists in the central states.
