Johnsburg School District No. 12 has organized a citizens' committee to study the feasibility of forming a kin dergarten through twelfth grade unit school district. Other school districts within the boundaries of McHenry High School District 156 were invited to participate in this study. Although they chose not to participate in the study at this time, officials of affected districts are cooperating by supplying records which are relevant to the study. A semi-official body known as the "Committee of Ten" has filed a petition with the Superintendent of the Education Service Region for the purpose of forming a new K- 12 district with boundaries the same as the present District 12 boundaries. The Committee of Ten, along with thirty-eight other citizens, has formed a feasibility study committee for the purpose of determining the financial and educational wisdom of forming the K-12 district at this time. After completion of this study, a public hearing will be held, when the facts and con clusions of the study will be made known. Persons who are in favor of or who oppose for mation of the K-12 district will be able to state their opinions at that time. The Superintendent of the Education Service Region will then make a decision as to whether or not the area should be allowed to hold a public referendum to let voters make a final decision about any district reorganization. The Committee of Ten and the members of the feasibility study committee have agreed that if the study shows that it would not be feasible to form a K-12 district within the District 12 boundaries, the petition will be withdrawn prior to hearing date. The feasibility study com mittee is divided into sub committees for the purpose of collecting the facts and making projections pertinent to the study.
