Lakemoor-Lilymoor Alma Hueckstaedt 385-5689 Three Residents File Petitions For Trustee To date three people have filed petitions showing their intentions to run in the coming election for trustee in the Village of Lakemoor; they are Edna Garbacz and Diane Madenis on the Peoples Party Ticket and Tom Reese on the Independent Ticket. Feb. 10 is the deadline for anyone interested in filing to run in this election which will be held on April 15. Feb. 15 has a double meaning for residents of Lakemoor. They not only have to display their 1975 license plates but they are required to have their vehicle stikers also on their windshield. If you haven't purchased your sticker as yet, why not give the Village Clerk, Carol Schmidt, a call and make arrangements to pick yours up. Her number is 385-1117. SECOND CUP OF COFFEE On Tuesday, Jan. 21, a second cup of coffee meeting was held at the home of Sherrill Weber. Those in attendance were mothers of Hilltoppers. Mr. Nellis, principal of Hilltop, was also there. Many topics were covered -- including the upcoming Fun Fair which will be held on Feb. 1 from 1 to 4 p.m. Proceeds will go for new draperies in the cafeteria. Also discussed was the testing program for preschoolers. If you have a child between the ages of 3 and 5, please call Hilltop at 385-4421 and ask for the form for preschool testing. The secretary will take certain information from you and send the form to you. The date will be some time before the third week in March. Notice of the exact date and time will be given to you. Another item brought up was the possibility of using the gym facilities at Hilltop for exer cising volleyball, etc. Mr. Nellis graciously said we could have the use of the gym on Thursday evenings. There will be a small charge for the use of the gym and this will be met by the women in Lilymoor who decide to join in this fun-filled evening every week. So ob viously, the more women the smaller charge per person. For any woman who is interested in taking off a few pounds and inches or just having fun-call Sherrill Weber at 344-1955 or Cheryl Mumma at 385-1982 for additional information. The only requirement is that you be a resident of Lilymoor-it is not necessary to have a child in school. The first night will be tomorrow, Jan. 30, from 7 to 9 p.m. So -- Call Sherrill or Cheryl for information right now. Many women commented on the second cup of coffee meetings. It is a great con venience having one right in our own neighborhood. Those who attended the meeting were Mr. Nellis, Sherrill Weber, Cheryl Mumma, Shirley Hager, Nancy Hueckstaedt, Bev An dersen, Kitty Abel, Toni Yerkes, Dottie Nelson, Marian Vornkahl and Evelyn Dawdy. FIRST BOY CHILD Monday morning, Jan. 20, did not start like any other for Marilyn and Larry Jones Something told them this day would definitely be different. And different it turned out to be -- for this was the day their little boy would be born. Little Larry Joseph made his debut shortly before noon weighing at a hearty 7 lbs., 12 oz., and measuring a full 19 inches in length. He has four sisters waiting to spoil him, and they all predicted his gender before he made his curtain call. The girls-Tracey, Shirley, Jamie and Sheri are very anxious to help Mom any way they can. Larry's proud grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. James Newton of Elgin, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jones of Chicago. He also has some great- grandparents -- they are Mrs. Marie Perkins of Jonesboro, 111., and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jones of Haleyville, Ala. Needless to say the Jones boy is a very special boy indeed. Congratulations Larry and Marilyn -- this is proof that dreams do come true. WELCOME We have in ours midst two newcomers to Lilymoor, they are Mr. and Mrs. John Schelle at 214 Friendly avenue. They moved here from Mundelein. Previous to that they had lived in the McHenry area for the past twenty years. To them we say welcome and hope you enjoy your residency here. BELATED ANNIVERSARY Belated wishes go out to John and Katherine Schelle who celebrated their anniversary on Jan. 15. May they share many more happy years together. REQUEST Bill Waier had been ill for many years and on Jan. 23, he passed away in Lutheran General hospital in Park Ridge. During his final illness Mr. Waier was the recipient of approximately 50 to 55 pints of blood, which along with other expenses sky-rocketed his hospital bill. His wife was told they could replace the blood on a two-for-one basis#to the blood bank. If any reader has gone through a similar situation they will understand how well ap preciated any donation made in the family name can be. Anyone who desires to donate in Mr Waier's name will not have to go in to Park Ridge to do so, they may go in to McHenry hospital, because our local hospital belongs to a Co-op Blood bank. All you are required to do is to call the hospital and make your ap pointment as Feb. 5 is the next date for donors, on Co-Op plan. It is very important that you call as the time element is short, it is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. If you can't go in on Feb. 5, the Co-Op donors can give on the first Wednesday of every month, by appointment. Mr. Waier is Jerry Weber's grandfather, who lived in Niles.
