Feb. 1, from 1 to 4 p.m. STAFF PHOTO-WAYNE GAYLORD Fun Fair At Hilltop Whether you are 8 oi1 80, everyone will enjoy the Fun Fair to be held at Hilltop School, 2615 Lincoln Road, Saturday, Feb. 1, from 1 to 4 p.m. The Fun Fair is an annual event sponsored by the Hilltop Parent Teacher organization. A new, special attraction at the fair this year will be the Moon Walk. A returning favorite is the White Elephant auction with Mac Neff as auctioneer. Games included will be the Lollipop Tree, Tip the Cat, Goldfish, Shooting Gallery, 5 pin Bowl, Bozo Buckets, Make­ up, Grand Slam, Fish Pond, Zodiac, Pen Game, Cake Walk, Spin a Prize, Zoo Parade and Cup Cake Surprise. The drapes will make it possible to show FASHION SHOW The Crystal Lake branch of the Sherman Hospital auxiliary promises to "keep you in stitches" "by presenting a Patterns and Fabrics "one- girl" fashion show of good looking clothes the viewer can stitch herself. The presentation will begin at 8 p.m. in the auditorium of the Crystal Lake high school, 75 West Franklin, Crystal Lake, Wednesday, Feb. 5. The public is invited. movies to large groups. At the present time movies can only be shown in individual classrooms. Anyone who has items they would like to donate for the White Elephant auction may bring them to the school office this week. Clothing will not be included in the auction. John Adelman, director of Student Services, McHenry County Junior college, will be the speaker. His topic will be "Alternatives in High School Education Programs." Adelman will focus his 'discussion on "Project Breakaway," a program initiated by McHenry County college, to enable high school drop-outs to obtain a diploma. He will also explain the use and effect on adults of G.E.D. ( G e n e r a l E d u c a t i o n a l Development), the high school equivalency certificate. His tentative plans for the program include bringing students who will help explain the program. Mr. and Mrs. Robert White, Jr., of Carpentersville, for­ merly of McHenry, welcomed their third child and third son RECENT VISITORS Mr. and Mrs. Michael Cox and daughter, Dana Marie, of Phoenix, Ariz., were recent visitors in the home of Dana's maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Newkirk. Dana Marie is the six month old daughter of the former Theresa Newkirk and Michael Cox who resided in Crystal Lake several years before moving to Phoenix. Blizzard A blizzard is a severe weather condition which includes low tem­ peratures, strong winds, and large quantities of fine, dry snow which is picked up from the ground. Jan. 21 at McHenry hospital. The baby, who weighed 7 lbs., 9 oz., has been named William Thomas. Mrs. White is the former Laura McGee of Johnsburg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. McGee of Carpentersville. The paternal grandparents are Mrs. Dolores White of McHenry and Robert White of Palatine. Mr. and Mrs. Christian Newkirk of Lake Worth, Fla., announce the birth of their first child, a son, Brett Weston, Jan. 22. Proud grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ben Chelini and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Newkirk of McHenry. Paternal great- grandparents are Joseph Williams of McHenry and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin J. Newkirk of Woodstock.
