Registration dates are Saturday, March 15, bet­ ween 11 a.m., and 2 p.m., and Saturday, March 22, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., at either house. All boys from age 8 to 12 are urged to register. Questions regarding age eligibility can be answered by contacting Mr, Milbratz. - A Little League board meeting will be held Tuesday, April 1, 8 p.m. in the village hall. All interested parents*are invited to attend. VEHICLE STICKERS A reminder that vehicles must have a displayed 1975 vehicle sticker by March 31. Stickers are now available at the village clerk's office, 4616 W. Parkview. EASTER EGG HUNT Once again, there'll be an Easter egg hunt for village youngsters at the beach. It will start promptly at 10 a.m. March 29, and kids to age 12 are eligible to participate. Residents are asked for donations of boiled, colored eggs which can be dropped off anytime, Friday, March 28, at Kathy Zahn's home, 5213 W. Orchard, or Pat Milbratz' home, 4900 W. Parkview. Or they can be brought to the beach until 8:30 a.m. the twenty-ninth. In conjunction with the egg hunt, a coloring contest, and egg decorating contest are planned. Kids who wish to enter, may bring a hand drawn,and colored Easter theme picture, they made themselves, or an egg they decorated themselves. Entries may be brought into the village hall March 29, until 9:50 a.m., where they'll be categorized, and judged according to age groups. The child does not have to enter the contest to be in the egg hunt. PERSONAL For the second time, in less than a year, Denise Suchor is wearing a cast. This one is on her left arm, which was broken, when she fell at school. Denise suffered two broken arms last year, so she knows the aggravation that lies ahead for the next ten weeks, until the case is removed. BABY GIRL A new arrival in the village is little Jennifer Johnson, born March 1, weighing 7 lbs., 11 oz. Jennifer's parents are Bob and Mary Ellen Johnson, and she has three big sisters. Her sisters are Bobbie Jo, Debbie and Cassey, all eager to help take care of the new baby. ANNIVERSARY DINNER Harry and Joan Lundy ob­ served, their twenty-fifth an­ niversary, with a family dinner at their home. Five of their six children were there, including Debbie,Scott and Cheryl, the three youngest, who still live at home. Also, their son Steve, and his wife, Kathy, from Fox Lake, with their two children, Jeff, and Christy, and their daughter, Sandy, with her husband, Don Lasco, residents of McCullom Lake. Unable to make it to the dinner party were the Lundys' other married daughter, Sue Smith, and their son-in-law, Steve, who live in Iowa. Harry and Joan were married Feb. 25, 1950, at Grace Lutheran church in Woodstock. They lived in Woodstock the first few years after their marriage, and then moved to their present home on W. Beachview, there they've resided for 21 years. Our belated congratulations to the Lundys on their twenty-fifth anniversary, and best wishes for the next twenty-five. GIRL'S SOFTBALL There'll be a meeting, at the beach house Tuesday, March 18, 7:30 p.m., to start up the girls' Softball league again this year. Anyone interested in managing or coaching a team is asked to come. Also, parents of girls who are planning to join the league are welcome to attend the meeting. ^EACH GALS Mostly routine business was discussed by the Beach Gals, March 5. Plans for the Spring Church Women United The Rev. and Mrs. Ralph Smith of the First United Methodist church, McHenry, and Mary Brannock of St. Patrick's Catholic church, center, area chairwoman for Church Women United, are shown on moving day for the Closet. LADIES OF THE LAKE Ladies of the Lake will resume their meetings again this month. The date is Thur­ sday, March 13, 8 p.m., at the beach house. It will be a regular business meeting, and interested ladies, are invited to attend. BIRTHDAYS Hope Wendy Cunningham had a happy birthday, March 8. Kathy Mass, who'll be six years old, is wished a happy day, March 13. March 14, Cindy Martini and Karen Sarabia celebrate birthdays, and Bob Boyle's is March 15. Happy birthday to Dorothy Weber, March 16 and Patrick Walter, March 17. On March 18, Kathy Lee Loewe will be one year old, and Bill Cunningham celebrates his birthday, also March 18. REMINDERS Adult volley ball, Saturday, March 15, starting about 7:30 p.m., McCullom Lake Archers meet, Sunday, March 16, from 2 p.m. till 5 p.m. Village hall is open for kids Monday and Friday evenings from 6:30 p.m. till about 9:30 p.m. SERPO Will Take A Look At Special Education HOLD OSTOMY MEETING The Elginland. Ostomy association will meet at 7:30 p.m. March 17 in the Golf room of Sherman hospital. The speaker for the evening will be William Jones of the Fox Valley Ostomy association in Aurora. Mr. Jones, active in the Aurora group from its infancy, will bring ideas that have been helpful in the growth of their organization. Kevin Kendrigan. director of the Northwest Special Recreation association, will be the guest of SERPO at its regular meeting March 13, 8 p.m. at Central school in Crystal Lake. Mr. Kendrigan has worked with the Northwest association since its founding in 1973. He has extensive knowledge of how, why and what kinds of associations for recreation are in existence in Illinois and will inform of the steps to take and how to take them to cause park districts in this area to form such an association. He will also present ways and means of financing such an association. The Northwest Special Recreation association today offers forty programs for the handicapped and their families i n c l u d i n g s w i m m i n g , basketball, knitting; horseback riding, arts and crafts, etc. Special populations served include physically han­ dicapped. mentally "retarded, emotionally disturbed, visually impaired, hearing impaired, geriatric or individuals with anv, other special needs. Funding is made available from federal revenue sharing funds, park district assessments by referendum and Special Education district funds for cooperative program cost and transportation. All SERPO members and all parents of exceptional children are urged to attend this March meeting to become acquainted with the work involved in creating an association for special recreation and find out how they can help and why they should help. Those who attended the special SERPO meeting in PAGE 11 - PLAINDEALER February* are aware of the resolution to support STAR irt i ts acquisition of the Woodstock property known as the St. Joseph's novitiate. This resolution was withdrawn because of inadequate in­ formation on the project. It was withdrawn in favor of a motion to invite representatives of STAR to the next SERPO meeting to explain their acquisition and contemplated programs. This motion was carried. SERPO has contacted Mar­ tin L. Pratt of STAR and he has accepted the invitation to speak, along with William J. McAllister, a member of the STAR board of directors, at the March 13 meeting. They will show a 20-minute film on the Good Shepherd manor, a successful home for the retarded in Momence, explain what they plan to do at the St. Joseph novitiate, and answer all questions pertaining to this project. After this presentation, the withdrawn motion to support STAR in the form of a WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12. 1975 resolution will be re-introduced and acted upon SERPO's membership and meetings are open to anyone interested in helping handicapped children and adults.
