Wonder Lake Maiy Jean Huff 728-0267 Young At Hearts Complete Plans For Busy Season The Wonder Lake Young at Hearts met on Wednesday, March 5, and completed plans for a journey to the Sears Tower and the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. The all day bus trip will include lunch at the Museum. Now that Spring is near and the weather is im proving, the wheels will be rolling for this active group, taking them to Milwaukee and many more places of interest. Already plans are being made for a picnic in August. Honored at the meeting for their March birthdays were Ed Pulcyn, Irene Solinski and Marie Robinson. Members of the club expressed their sympathy on the death of their friend, Fred Schladt. The next meeting of the Young at Hearts will be March 19. BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION "Grandma" Verona Huff was a surprised guest of honor on Saturday evening, March 8; when cars full of her children and grandchildren piled into her home in Richmond to help her celebrate her seventieth birthday. While the grand children entertained them selves at "home" the rest of the group took Grandma out for dinner. To make the evening especially memorable, her son, Harold, and his wife, Gail, and two sons, Phillip and Jeffrey, were visiting here from their home in Portland, Ore. The "frosting on the cake" came with a double surprise as her son, Larry, and his wife, Thelma pulled in the driveway, coming all the way from Carthage, Mo., to be a part of the birthday party and to visit with his brothert Harold, and his family. It was a night that will remain a happy memory for many Huffs for many years to come. And, Grandma, - just wait 'til you're 75 - are we gonna celebrate! AUXILIARY SALE The ladies of Wonder Lake POETS CORNER I WISH I HAD YOU TO COME ALONG Bright are the stars that shine, dark as the sky. I know this love of mine will never die. Remember I'll always be true even though you make me blue I'll pretend I am kissing the lips I am missing and hope that my dreams will come true. I'll take my case and forget her embrace. Think of tomorrow and old memories I could borrow. I am gonna make it short, now angel, though I could make it long. I only wish I had you near and to follow along. You'll see the light some day and you'll remember who was right and who was wrong. Bye Lawrence W. F. Schultz HURTING INSIDE Walking down a lonely road really feeling blue, Thinking back on old memories wishing I still had you. When I think about her now and then I remember how We once walked hand in hand while we were one. How we laughed, how we cried, And how hard we tried together as one. How those dreams I thought would have come true If it wasn't for you they would have come true. How badly you wanted your own little twins. Yes the love you once gave has been taken away. And how I shall say these words in such a way That you may come back some day but till that day I shall stand alone and pay the price of loneliness.
