McHenry County Brass quintet Pierce and David Scherer. left to right, William Toalson, Sally Pierce, Stuart Hughes, David MCC Presents Music Program The McHenry County college Music department will present the Dimar Duo and the McHenry County Brass quintet in concert Sunday, April 20, at 3:30 p.m. The program will be held in the Student Union on the interim campus in Crystal Lake. Diane Koenig and Marilyn Scherer make up the Dimar Duo. This duo-piano team has been performing for one year in the McHenry county area. Both are private piano teachers. They will perform the Second Suite for Piano Op. 17 by Rach maninoff. The McHenry County Brass Quintet was founded five years ago to provide the citizens of McHenry county an op portunity to hear the chamber music literature for brass in struments. Members of the quintet are David Scherer and William Toalson. trumpets; Stuart Hughes, French horn; Sally Pierce, baritone; and David Pierce, bass. David Scherer is the band director at Lundahl Junior high in Crystal Lake. William Toalson directs the band program at McHenry East high school. Stuart Hughes is a statistician in Melrose Park; 111. Sally Pierce is a former band director, and David Pierce directs the bands at Woodstock high school. They will perform works for brass quintet by Eugene Bozza, Malcolm Arnold, J.B. Loeillet, Hovhaness, Jack G. McKie and Victor Ewald. The public is invited to attend this program without charge. This registration is for all District 12 children who were born before Dec. 1, 1972, and are not presently in school. The registration will be held at Johnsburg Middle school on the two days mentioned above. Anyone not able to report at the assigned time-should call the school to arrange a time that is convenient. The schedule listed should be adhered to if at all possible, however. Kindergarten parents should bring a copy of their child's birth certificate which is necessary for school records. Card Club Meets At Glenn Benoy Home In Alden The "500" Card Club was attended by the Paul Walkingtons and the Walt Lows in the home of the Glenn Benoys in Alden, last Saturday evening. High scores were taken by Althea Walkington and Danny Rawson, low scorers for the evening were Doris Low and Walt Wilcox. WELL WISHES Well wishes are in order for Joe Visconti who had the misfortune to fall < 30 feet) from a tree last Saturday while trimming it down to size to take down. Joe is in McHenry hospital with several broken bones (both wrists were broken so both arms are in casts), and I 'm sure he'd like to receive cards from his " friends and neighbors. HERE ANDTHERE \ There were about seven ladies in the area who attended the McHenry County Christian Women's Club luncheon last Wednesday. This group meets the second Wednesday of every .month for lunch at different places.
