Lakemoor-Lilymoor Alma Hueckstaedt 385:5689 Two Monthly Meetings Again For Village Board s Residents of Lakemoor, the village meetings have gone back to two times a month. Meetings are held in the council room in the municipal building on Route 120, on the second and fourth Thursday of each month, at 8 p.m. All residents are urged to attend these meetings. At every meeting there are many important issues dicussed and you should attend. and get all the information and if you have any questions you may have the answers that same night. INFORMATION NEEDED As many of you readers may have read in past issues, the appointed historian, Pat Morrison, once again needs the help of some of you. She would like any information, records, newspaper clippings, or what have you, regarding the club group of years back, known as the LilyLake Beautifying Club. Anyone who may remember who the officers were or if any reader has any snapshots of club members, or any of the various affairs that have taken place in past; call Pat at 385- 8707 and let her know what information and-or pictures you have and will either donate the photos or if you don't care to give them up, then perhaps you might have the negatives that Pat may be able to have prints made. Pat is compiling the history of Lakemoor and Lilymoor and s"he needs all the help she can get. The sewerage plan and some of the costs were outlined. President Hyatt brought up for the board's acceptance several of the appointments for the coming year. The ones accepted were: - Pacita Morrison - Village Treasurer, Norman Morrison: - Director of Civil Defense, Thomas Baker: - Village Attorney, Baxter and Woodman: - Village Engineers, McHenry State Bank: Financial Transactions, the dog-catchers' contract is to be reviewed. A committee of Tom Reese, Harry Brady and Curt Freeman was appointed to check into the contractural police service. ' There will be more ap­ pointments made during the meeting of May 8. TICKETS AVAILABLE The Lakemoor Bicentennial talent show, the Junior Miss Lakemoor contest and the dance are all available for your pleasure with the purchase of one ticket per person. If you are planning on attending any of these affairs get your ticket now. Children's tickets are also available. May 31 is the date, so start making your plans to attend these gala doings. I have several tickets and I will gladly sell you one or more. Call and let me know how many you would like. WELCOME The welcome mat has been set out for Bob and Debbie Coborn, their young son, Jason, and Bob's sister, Chris. They are residing at 105 S. Lakeshore Drive in Lakemoor. Any of you readers who live near that address, why not go over and introduce yourself and make the Coborns feel very welcome. -~~ BIRTHDAYS' Those having a birthday during the first week of May are Helen Para on the second, Sue Thomas, Linda Blake, and Albert F. Kunz all have the third in common as their bir- thdate, and then on the sixth Richard Polinski will add one more year. Ayery happy birth­ day to all-ofypu and may this coming year be a much better one than the one just past. GET-WELL WISHES James Kelley is recovering from an automobile accident he was very recently involved in, due to a mechanical failure of his car. Fortunately he was not seriously injured. Hope you are feeling much better as you read this, James. GREEN BEANIE RITUAL Eunice Tobey, Ethyl Hagberg and Mabel Thomas, all College Regents of the McHenry Moose Lodge, along with other members went to the Green Beanie Capping ceremony at the lodge in Woodstock. Spring Grove Eva Freund 675-2135 Christian Mothers Society Conducts Busy Meeting On Thursday, April 17, members of the Christian Mothers Society held their regular meeting in St. Peter's parish hall. President Beverly Schmitt opened the meeting with a prayer and a salute to the flag. Secretary and Treasurer reports were read and approved. Announcements were that the pantry supply needs replenishing. A donation was made to the Jaycees. The St. Patrick card party was very successful and the committee was thanked. Also a thank you to all the ladies who helped clean church. Donors for the Blood Drive gave 150 pints of blood. Bicentennial plates may be purchased from LCWC. A thank you note from Leona Lilla for get-well cards and prayers. A $5 donation was received from the Fox Lake Garden Club to be used for flowers. Greeting cards were signed The gals had a delicious lunch, they played bingo, and all in all had a very enjoyable time. Plans were started and committees formed for the summer social, which will be held on Sunday, June 22. Jean Kagan, chairman of the nominating committee presented the new slate of officers...Dolores May as president and Catherine Kagan as secretary. Since there were no motions from the floor, an unanimous vote was cast to accept officers as presented by nominating committee. On the next meeting night, May 15, a parish social evening will be held. A dinner will be served at 6;30. Entertainment will be given by the McHenry Senior Citizen Kitchen Band. All parishioners welcome. Reservations before May 8 by contacting Pat Rinda or Barbara Wagner. Meeting closed with a prayer. Cake and coffee were served. CELEBRATE GOLDEN WEDDING Some 300 friends and relatives joined in the celebrating of the fiftieth wedding anniversary of Ben and Frances Busch at their reception held in St. Peter's hall on Saturday night, April 19. A delicious dinner was served and an evening of dancing was DEATHS Our sympathy is extended relatives of Arlene May. She passed away on Thursday, April 17, at the age of 56, following several years of illness. Funeral services and Mass were at St. Peter's church on Monday, April 21. » This community was shocked to hear of the death of Lorraine Pepping Watkins of Crystal Lake, who died suddenly in her home on April 21. The deceased lived here as a child when her parents Mr. and Mrs. Albert Pepping lived on Richardson Road. . IN "LA MANCHA" CAST Members of the cast for the University of Notre Dame- Saint Mary's college produc­ tion of "Man of La Mancha" have been announced by Dr. Reginald Bain, chairman of the combined theater program and director of the play. Per­ formances are scheduled for O'Laughlin auditorium May 1, 2, 3 and May 17, 18 com­ mencement weekend. Per­ forming in the play will be Craig Spengel, McHenry.
