BEAUTY TIPS FOR SLIGHTLY WILTED MOMS "A thing of beauty is a, joy forever," wrote the poet and certainly we can all agree that beauty does bring pleasure to everyone. Women have ever been mindful of the importance of, beauty, especially when "courting" and getting mar ried. But sometimes, after the children come and household chores multiply, wives may be so busy be ing mothers and house keepers that beauty rou tines take, a back seat to do ing the laundry and mop ping the kitchen floor. If you're a mother who's been neglectful when it comes to glamour, then treat yourself (and your family) to looking your best all the time by estab lishing a new beauty rou tine . . . and sticking to it! Experts stress the im portance of good grooming habits, practiced on a regu lar basis, as the foundation of looking attractive. Your beauty routine be gins at night, with careful cleansing of your skin to remove all traces of make up, followed by applica tions of night cream. Now's the time also to repair man icures. If you're a bath-at-night type, take time out before your bath to do some stretch-and-bend exercises, then treat yourself to a bub ble or scented-oil bath . . . it'll make you feel more glamorous! If you prefer a shower in the morning, do exercises first.. . they'll help you get going and improve your muscle tone as well. If you're holding down a job, make-up is an especial ly important part of your daily beauty routine. Be sure and cleanse your face thoroughly of traces of night cream before apply ing make-up. Make sure the light is adequate where you apply your makeup. Use a light moisturizer to help your foundation go on smoothly. And don't stop your foun dation at the chin; apply it all the way down the neck to avoid telltale lines. Apply mascara next, us ing a piece of tissue be neath lower lashes to pre vent smears. Apply lipstick with a brush for a lovelier line, and if you're still using the same you used years ago, now's the time to experi ment with new color. A spray of cologne or dab of perfume does won ders for your beauty image -- make it a part of your morning routine. PAGE 15-SUPPLEMENT ' 1 * ~ '* ' *•' - - Shampooing time should be set aside every week for normal hair, more often for oily hair. You'll find that regular trimming and shap ing will help your hair to hold its set, and an electric hair setter can refresh your hair style between settings. Keep a hairpiece or wig in 'Vet" condition for those emergency occasions . . . and if you're going out again after having put in a day on the job, be sure to put on a new face by removing your old make up and re-applying fresh make-up. For a more glamorous look in the evening, there are many beauty tricks you scious. They've discovered a new interest; how being 'crafty' relieves boredom and restores their sense of humor. It makes them feel proud of what they can do. And many a mother, in a quiet hour after the family is bedded down, has found that working on a piece of macrame, doing a charm ing decoupage tray, or ev en painting by the num bers, is more conducive to a restful night of pleasant dreams than any pill.
