McHenry Shores Sandra Moyer 385-8646 Special Work Crew Filling Holes In Roads The warm summer-like weather has brought out the lawn mowers, lilacs, tulips, gardeners, family bicycle groups, ball games, shorts, charcoal grills and muscles that had been hibernating over the winter. The sounds of children laughing, boats on the river, dogs barking and sweet smells of flowers in bloom are now blowing through our open windows. It's great to be alive and enjoying a beautiful spring. You may have noticed the red numbers painted on the streets and the surveying crew at work. This is the initial phase of the ditching survey mentioned in last week's column. There has also been a crew of men filling some of the holes in the roads. With the warmer weather and the newly patched holes we ask you to please drive slowly. Until the patch is packed down a car hitting a newly filled hole at a high rate of speed will just push out the patch. Some of the road culverts have been cleaned out. Please watch those near your homes and if debris is washing into them call the village hall so it can be removed. New signs with hours and regulations have been posted at the beach. The signs were made by Don Henderlong and Lon Reed and are an attractive addition to the beach area. The raft will be launched late Saturday morning and if anyone would like to help call Don Henderlong. Don't forget Clean-Up Day, June 7.
