Dairying continues to be a major part of the agricultural income in McHenry county though the county no longer is Illinois' biggest dairy- producing county. With onrushing suburban living, dairy farmers have sold out, given up, or changed to another type of farming. This does not lessen the in tense interest" in dairy promotion here. Many of the farmers on the Dairy Promotion council are also active in the Consumer In formation committee work conducted the past several months by the six northeastern Illinois county Farm Bureaus. One goal of product promotion is to inform consumers about the health-giving benefits of specific food products. Milk is a versatile food, easy to serve, refreshing and convenient to serve-and that's one message Ellen Gardner, Dairy Princess, has been repeating. Ellen is from Solon Mills. The Dairy banquet will be at 7:30p.m. June 19 at Building D, county fairgrounds. John Pfingsten is the Dairy Promotion council chairman. Henry Marlowe, Huntley businessman, will be master of ceremonies at the banquet.
