Wayne Kidd. son of Dr . and Mrs. Donald Kidd of McHenry, graduated from McHenry high school in 1967. After beginning his musical s tudies with the la te Glenn Welty of McHenry, he s tudied f ive years a t Nor­ thern I l l inois univers i ty with the renowned Donald Walker . He received a Bachelor of Music degree and a Bachelor-of Science degree in biology f rom N.I U and performed there as a graduate assis tant in music theory. He is pursuing his graduate s tudies a t the Universi ty of Chicago on the Swif t fe l lowship, a ful l tu i t ion grant in the Music department . His f ie ld of con­ centrat ion is music of the la te Renaissance. He has played f i rs t bassoon in the Universi ty of Chicago symphony orchestra and has performed a reci ta l demon­ strat ion, in the Chicago publ ic schools . During his years a t Northern I l l inois univers i ty he made numerous appearances a t reci ta ls , concerts , operas , and lectures as a pianis t . He played bassoon in bands, symphonies and chamber groups. This year he assis ted in lecture demonstrat ions a t Waukegan high school , ex­ plor ing the roots of current pop music in ragt ime, blues and jazz. He teaches piano s tudents in Crystal Lake and in McHenry and was musical director for the recent Performing Arts Community theatre "hi t , "Wizard of Oz." McHenry county wil l be represented by four member teams in the areas of Livestock, Name Thiede Chairman Of Fair Exhibits . loo Thiede has been named chairman of the commercial exhibi ts a t the 1975 McHenr\ "County Fair ,and he reports good response for space but adds businesses and organizat ions desir ing to re ta in a locat ion should act promptly. Thiede has been act ive with the fai r in some capaci ty vir­ tual ly s ince i t was revived in 1949. For many years , he helped the VFW when i t assumed responsibi l i ty for s taff ing the var ious r ides . He was chairman of the exhibi ts- indoors and outdoors- las t year .
