Local Pastel Artist One-Man Show Feature Ron Wilson, featured in One-Man show, working in his studio. Ron Wilson of Wonder Lake will be showing his pastel drawings as the One-Man-show feature of the nineteenth an nual McHenry Art Fa-ir, presented by the auxiliary to McHenry hospital. A self- taught artist who is a carpenter by trade, Ron was exhibited in the McHenry show for eight years and has worked actively on the committee for as long. His works have brought numerous awards from Judson college, the Dundee Art fair, Lake County Town and Country show, Kane county, DeKalb regionals, Algonquin and Wauconda Art shows. Although he has done some watercolors, pastel portraits are his speciality. He favors portraits of children and is well qualified to know their traits, as the father of six. The fair will be open to the public June 20 from 12 to 10, June 21,10 to 10, June 22,10 to 7. A small donation is payable at the door. STAFF PHOTO-WAYNE GAYLORD Stock Car Racing Wilmot Some 1,900 fans gave a standing ovation to late modei sportsman drivers Don Collins, Sid Norton and Duke Norton following a 15-lap feature race which saw the three racers weave their way through traffic an$ then battle for the first- place position right down to the checkered flag. Collins led in the early going and then was passed by Duke Norton of Wonder Lake, and Sid Norton of McHenry. Collins then got right on Duke's tail and bird-dogged him in much the same way that cars draft behind the leader on high-speed banked speedways. Duke lost the groove and drifted high going into turn three of the 14th lap and his brother Sid, running alongside, was forced even further out.
